To all AOL subscribers - I have just been informed that BassResource.com has been blacklisted for "spam complaints" by people who subscribed to our newsletter (apparently they don't know what the "unsubscribe" link is for). This, despite being officially whitelisted by AOL, effectively giving permission to send AOL subscribers our newsletter.

I have contacted AOL, and they will do absolutely nothing to remove the block.

So, any AOL subscriber who purchases an e-book will NOT recieve their merchandise, since I cannot contact them. Nor can I answer any e-mails from you, nor can I contact any of our current advertisers who have AOL accounts.

If you are an AOL subscriber, I encourage you to complain to them and demand that they remove the block on IP 66.242.29.35 immediately! Let them know you are not happy they are arbitrarily blocking YOUR e-mail that YOU WANT!

I had a website long time ago that sold outdoor goods.  It also went on a list although I am positive I never sent one single piece of spam.  I also was unable to talk them into removing the block.

They also add tons of uneeded software to your computer, which generally can slow it down quite a bit, if you dont know what to remove.

Yes, you're right!  I did talk to somebody over in India, who only kept repeating herself over and over again.  Absolutely no help whatsoever!  >:(

Yeah AOL sucks. When I got my new computer I wanted earthlink on it because I new I would never be able to get AOL crap off it. Guess what. I got aol crap on it. Talk about a virus and monster spammer. Maybe they should blacklist themselves! Its horrible. Service there sucks too. Commie bastages. I've got DSL now through ATT. Couldnt be happier.

I did learn something though

How do I subscribe to your news letter? Please pm me.

Well, Duh! On my part.  I thought the American public would have whizzed up about AOL by now and would have chosen anything but.  I guess if someone is still forced to use a dial-up connection, AOL will still survive.

We got AOL when first got a computer and didn't know a whole lot about them (my wife does now, I don't :-[). Fixin' to get a new Dell and wish we could come up with a new provider that didn't cost an arm and a leg. We live out on the backside of nowhere and don't get cable (still have small hometown phone co.) or anything. Get Monday's radio programs on Tuesday :o!

It would have to be some kind of DSL and they are pretty expensive from what we've found :(...

AOL really had the ISP market cornered for a long time.

Thank God they keep losing market share.

They need a huge dose of humility.

If you're that far back in the sticks, DSL isn't even an option.

There are other ISP's out there.  I wouldn't use AOL if they were the only thing available.

We had it when we first got our computer.  (in 2000.  We were the last to get one)  We kept it for a few years after that.  We HATED it.  Then, we got joi internet, and loved it, aside from being dialup.  But, that was all we had, and didn't really know there was better.  Well, then joi was sold to earthlink, and we hated them.  So we went with adelphia high speed cable internet.  Loved it.  Learned how important that really was.  faster, doesn't tie up phone lines.  Learned what we had missed.  Recently adelphia was sold to comcast (at least down here it was) and we don't hate comcast, but it ain't completely foolproof/reliable.  It has its blips a good bit.  At first they were fairly common, due to the software changing, just now, it will not load, or not connect to internet, even though everything is plugged in and reads full output.
