-Drums- Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 Check this out - incredible (amateur) footage some folks got while on a safari trip in Africa. Beats anything I've ever seen on the Discovery channel... Make sure to watch the whole thing! Quote
edbassmaster Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 Excellent amateur footage. Its amazing how wildlife photographers spend their entire career trying to get that kind of footage, and then some amateurs on a safari stumble upon it. That was awesome, thanks Drums!! Quote
fishingchef80 Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 that was crazy!!!! i found myself wanting the lions to get trampled, lol. nice vid and thanks Quote

Super User senile1 Posted May 22, 2007 Super User Posted May 22, 2007 That is some unbelievable footage and the crocodile slipping in there to try and steal the calf was incredible. Quote
-Drums- Posted May 22, 2007 Author Posted May 22, 2007 Cool, no problem! When my wife sent me that, I immediately KNEW I had to share it here. ;D For me the coolest part was how the buffalo went back for reinforcements....and got the entire herd, and came back to get their baby. Incredible! Quote
Red Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 great vidoe! how did that baby survive? were the lions just playin or what? i always thought when one of those cats got a hold of an animal it was lights out pronto! guess they were slackin that day! Cliff Quote

FL_fisher Posted May 22, 2007 Posted May 22, 2007 great vidoe! how did that baby survive? were the lions just playin or what? i always thought when one of those cats got a hold of an animal it was lights out pronto! guess they were slackin that day! Cliff when it comes to taking down buffalo the lions will put their mouth over the buffalos nose to suffocate it rather than go for the big throat. So it takes much longer to kill a buffalo, even a calf. Im more shocked that it walked away after that croc grabbed hold of it, but it did look like a small croc. Quote
