If you had 10$ to spend, what would you recommend for a topwater? I have none, and would like to get my aresenal started. Also do you know if Wal-Mart carries the yamamoto Kreatures?

Did some reading on it and all it had was good reviews. Def keep an eye out for it. I liked the look of "black shiner", I guess the clear is that good though?

Any other suggestions?

Check ***.com for the Optimum Popping Furbit.  I have 2 of them & I really think this will be a great lure in the next month.

I've been looking for a weedless popper that was heavy, this fits the bill.  It's 5/8 oz & cast great.

my first pick would always be a spook i mean for most fishing ... id get 2or3 of the sway-back spooks ... they seem big but the bass just hammer them ...

ohh if you get a spook add a big o-ring to the line tie ,,, then tie your line to the o-ring ... you will get easy action this way .. i also picked the sway backs cause they walk the dog easy  :)

Original Floating Rapala F7 size in silver or gold. For another $1 or 2 you can get two of them. They are easy to fish and are very productive.

Thanks for all the replies.

Not sure which ones to choose. But looks like the spook is a definite.

The only store I have locally is Wal-Mart. So if they dont have any of them, I'll order a couple off the net.

I picked up the super spook Jr ( in what I would consider white ) and the F7 rapala ( in silver ). Do you guys leave the small treble hooks on them, or switch them out? That is all that Wal-Mart had.

Also got the Strike King Jr buzzbait.

My choice would be the Reaction Innovation Vixen.  It's alot like a spook but I think it's actually alot louder.  I seem to walk the dog easier with the vixen as well.  It might be a little higher than $10 though so if you want to stay lower than 10 bucks I'd go with the spook too.

I went out to the pond and tried out the super spook jr and the rapala. d**n that spook is big, but since this is my first time ever actually trying to use a topwater correctly, it seemed not to do what I expected. It had a "Z" motion to it.

First impression, might be a while before I catch one on this. But when I do, my guess is its gonna be a big one!

The Rapala on the other hand, did as I thought it would and looked like it was just a matter of time before a bass hit it.

First impression, I really like this one. Cant wait to get it out to some of the other ponds in the area.

The buzzbait does exactly what it says, d**n that thing just screams.

This is a great thread I believe and before I go out and get something next time, I will definetely come back here and try to get some more of what you guys have recommended.

Thanks guys and I'll keep you updated on what works for me. :)
