Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted May 11, 2007 Super User Posted May 11, 2007 What is going on?? Just sitting here watching ESPN News and it seems like every other story is bad news for the NFL 1. Pacman Jones meeting with the commissioner about his season suspension and guess where he did was the night before their meeting ...... At a strip club. Exactly where he was earlier this year when he got in trouble that warranted the season long suspension. Yeah he is real concerned :-/ 2. Michael Vick linked to dog fighting supposedly on property he owns. If this is true, he is SCUM 3. Steve McNair charged with a DUI. Story seems weird so there must be more to it. He gets a DUI for being a passenger?? :-? There has to be more to it. 4. Tank Johnson getting out of jail for his weapons charge. Quote

Of course, his on the field play hasn't been all that great either. Quote

RiskKid. Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 Here is the deal in TN as it applies to the Steve McNair case. The law here is if you own the vehicle (which he did) and "knowingly" allow someone who is intoxicated drive it you get charged with DUI. They will have a hard time proving Steve "knew" the driver was intoxicated. They also reported that usually if the driver is charged the owner gets out of it most times. The law goes back to 1955 and a few other states also have this law. This is Steves second DUI incident in Nashville. A few years back he got charged with DUI and having a loaded gun in his car but got off due to some legal technicalities. Most folks here didn't know about this law til this happened and was reported on the local news. Quote

If I have been drinking and want a friend to drive that has drank less than me, how do I know if he is under the limit if I am drunk? Alot of loop holes for the Lawyers in that one. One a side note the Detroit Lions are expected to be Superbowl champs this year. : ;D Quote
Crabcakes Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 The most recent thing I heard about Michael Vick is that over 70 animals and various dog fighting paraphernalia were found at a house he owns. He says he had no knowledge and that his friends were taking advantage of his generosity by using the house to keep the fighting dogs. According to ESPN today two sources close to Vick alleged that he did indeed have knowledge and may have been involved. It seems pretty unreasonable that your friends and relatives can set up an alabroate dog fighting operation with 70 animals in a home you own without you having the faintest idea. "Vick's cousin, who lived at the home, was the target of a drug case that led authorities to search the property. Investigators reported finding dozens of dogs -- some of them injured and malnourished -- along with items associated with organized fighting, such as treadmills for training, jaw-prying sticks, veterinary drugs commonly used to treat wounds and blood-soaked carpeting."
