Like I told Stickling in PM, I was in the Navy 9yrs, 3yrs in the Reserves.  I was a Hospital Corpsman Second Class Petty Officer(HM2/E5) when I got out.  Did my duty in Great Lakes IL, Okinawa Japan, Camp Pendleton CA, Desert Storm front lines.  Most of my Navy Career was spent with the Marines.

Army Reservist for 11 years.  Deployed: Guatemala, Korea, and Iraq.  Rather carry a fishing pole than a M16 any day.    Fished a pond at Saddam's palace in Tikrit, Iraq.  Used corn from the chow hall.  Caught some little ones that looked like carp. It was different.  Waitin to go back, hope not though.

I retired from the Army with 21 years in October 05. I was a Sergeant First Class and a M11A2 tanker. I still work with the military as a contractor. I bought my boat as my retirement present. I did enjoy my career but I am glad to be onto something else. I highly recommend a stint in any branch of the sevice.

Activy army 62-67 with a tour of Korea and Vietnam thrown in for good measure.  A tour of duty would do some a lot of good.

Hi, Followed family orders and went though ROTC program ended up in the PSYOP program.   I am now in the Reserves and back home attending school/working and hoping to finally start a family. I am scared as hell about getting re-deployed though.

Pray for our friends, family members and soldiers that they will return safely. May God watch over them.

Well,.....we know Muddy_man wasn't in the navy...to him "port" is a wine. ;D

But I wonder if lLake Fork would have been even funnier ................"The harder and harder I push,...the starboarder and starboarder I go"

Did some great bass fishing in Virginia when I was stationed at Quantico.

Good Luck to all that are currently deployed and those that are going to be soon.

Active duty Army 1987-1992. Army National Guard for another 7 yrs. Military Police/ Military Police Investigator/Drug Suppression Team. Stationed in Panama for 3 years. Had to fish for Peacock bass on days off in Gatun Lake. Poor me!!!

My 19 year old son who wants to be a game Warden just signed up for 4 yrs in the Air Force last week. Hope he enjoys the military as much as I. Also hope he gets stationed near bass waters so I can go visit often.
