Cephkiller Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 I thought bad things happened in threes. Not for me. Here is a list of things that have broken on me in the past few weeks. 1) My tow vehicle's transmission went out. It's still in the shop. I'm using my Dad's truck to fish until it is fixed. 2) Blew a head gasket on my commuting car. I fixed it. Two days in the garage and not fishing > 3) U-joint broke on Dad's truck. I fixed it and replaced the other on because it was about to go too. One day in the garage and not fishing > 4) Tie rods ends (all four) were bad on Dad's truck. I fixed them. One day no fishy > 5) Dad's truck wouldn't start. I had to replace the positive battery cable. Late start to fishing > 6) I broke one of my BPS Extreme rods when setting the hook. Lost the fish > 7) Replaced that rod with an old Garcia 7' M I had in the garage. Broke 4" off the tip the first time out. I have no idea what happened to that. I'm running out of rods that I can stand to use > 8) On board charger quit. I have the warranty replacement installed. 9) Broken U-Bolts on boat trailer. The axle twisted sideways and wedged against the fenders. I fixed it. Delayed fishing AGAIN > These are in no particular order, but they all have happened to me in the recent past. I swear I'm about to lose it. ARGGGGGHHHHHHHH! Quote

skillet Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Reminds me of a sign I had hanging in my shop... Once as I sat musing sad and lonely :'(, a voice came to from out of the gloom saying "Cheer up, things could be worse! ". So, I cheered up and sure enough, things got worse. :'( Not trying to make light of your situations. Just a little (very little) humor ... As Ever, Skillet Quote
Cephkiller Posted May 4, 2007 Author Posted May 4, 2007 Thanks for putting it all in perspective, Catt. I, of course, realize things could be much worse. I was just venting a little bit. Quote
Super User Catt Posted May 4, 2007 Super User Posted May 4, 2007 Cephkiller I'm not trying to lessen what you're going through, venting frustrations is part of what this site is about. Those types of problems can weigh just a heavily on one's mind as mine can but friends like you help open the vent letting the steam out. Laughter works like a good medicine but first the steam must be released Quote
Guest avid Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 Man, and I thought the guy from Colorado who backed his truck into the lake had bad luck. :-/ Yo Ceph, No offense but do me a favor. Stay away. Your dear but distant friend avid Quote
justfishin Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 Hang in there Ceph. Its just your turn, lol. I know how you feel. It seems like the world is taking a big crap on you sometimes. Last month was my turn. I had to replace the well pump and thermal box ( 1,100 ), got news I needed new field drains in the septic system ( 1,800 ), Radiator took a crap in the van ( 200.00 ) and my girlfriend is moving back to Austria. She is homesick as heck. I don't blame her, I wish her well, but, I sure will miss looking at the fox running around the house in her undies, lol. I am 50, she is 27, need I say more? :'( ;D Quote
Cephkiller Posted May 5, 2007 Author Posted May 5, 2007 Are there any bass in Austria? It's something to think about, no? Quote
Guest avid Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 I could never live in a place referred to as "down under" Not sure exactly what it means, but it sounds skanky. Quote
Cephkiller Posted May 6, 2007 Author Posted May 6, 2007 I could never live in a place referred to as "down under" Not sure exactly what it means, but it sounds skanky. That's funny. It's even funnier because Australia is "down under" - not Austria. If you could keep your mind off Avril for just five minutes and concentrate on what you are posting this kind of thing wouldn't happen! ;D Quote
