The price of gas and oil is NUTS! But I got the habit so I gotta have it.................

To fill up my truck and boat today it cost $135 (only 46 gallons because both still had some fuel in them) :(

Anyone want to buy a kid or woman? Or trade for gas?

May be time to dig out the jonboat and paddle soon.

The one thing that I HATE most about bass boats is that they are built to run and you have to hold them back to save some gas.  Its like holdin a big muscle car back to the speed limit when you know that double the speed on the sign.  Runnin 30 around a fairly large lake to save gas and know that you are capable of much more is just SO HARD to do.  I just love that rush of runnin WOT down the lake early in the mornin as the sun is commin up and it is like glass out there!!! ;D ;D

This is why I went with a Xpress X19 and a Honda BF150.

It's not the fastest boat runs 60 by myself and 57 with my partner and his gear, But I can fish a long time before I have to get any gas and I don't have to buy that 20.00 a  gallon oil.

The engine has been Maintance free and is very quite. Best of all its very dependable.

I just don't know how you guys with your big "high per" bass boats can afford it ? Either you make a LOT more money that I do, or you don't fish near as much as I do.

To fill my portable 6 gallon tank for my 25hp 4 stroke Yamaha, and my Toyota Tacoma, when both are almost empty, only costs me about $45. Which is still way too much for a poor guy like me, who fishes too much, and doesn't work enough......

I fish 4 - 5 days a week.

Cost = approx. $1k per month (gas, oil. replacement tackle, and boat maintenance - boat is paid for).

So you must love it as much as I do............................ follow me to the free cheese line -> ;)

I really like using my TM for propulsion.  I actually liked it better when I rowed my canoe, but arthritis and injuries put an end to that.

I can't fish the big impoundments of course, but I don't miss that at all.

I would rather be in some quiet backwater place then have to deal with bass blasters, water skiers, jet skiers, and tournaments.

Avid, you and I have a lot in common.  I very much hope to meet and fish with you one of these days.

when I get back from Iraq in 15 months... I don't want a big ole bass boat... all I want is a jon boat and a truck to throw it in the back, the whipped cream on this would be a trailer for the boat hahahaha... my wife promised me it would be sitting in the yard when I finallly come home... so gas isn't going to be an issue for me... well going from a 95 cavalier to a pickup truck will make my gas bill go up a bit... but I can deal with it.
