Super User .ghoti. Posted April 12, 2007 Super User Posted April 12, 2007 There has to be few cigar lovers here. I know there's at leat one. That's his name on this site. My current fav's AVO, a perfectly made medium strength smoke. A little pricey, but I'm worth it. Partagas, always good, have been for years. Love the Series S Leon Jimines, if you like Macanudo's, you'll love these. the best light strength smoke on the market, for my money. Indian Tabac Cameroon Legend, most of IT's gar's are way too strong for me. These aren't. Smooth and tasty. Punch Rare Corojo, medium-heavy in strength, very smooth and rich tasting Can't always find them. Others that find their way into the rotation on a regular basis; Montecristo R&J La Aurora 5 Vegas Gold Acid Blondies CAO There's more, but those are on the top of my list. What's on yours? Cheers, GK Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 Philly blunts for before fishing, jewel sweets for during and a nice opus for dessert. Quote
Zel Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 When I fish at night, lighting up a George Burns Churchill sure helps to keep the skeeters away. You can't help getting older, but you don't have to get old. George Burns Quote
Super User Dan: Posted April 12, 2007 Super User Posted April 12, 2007 Ewww, LBH, you actually smoke phillies? I didn't think they were used for anything but rolling blunts... I smoke the occasional cigar, I like ACIDs. Mainly Kuba Kuba's Quote
fishbear Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 While in Florida for business a couple of weeks ago, I did go into a cigar shop and purchase a couple of Jamaican cigars. For the life of me I can not remember what the name of them were. However, they were sooooooooooooo smooth, it was unreal. If I could remember the name I would order a box for fishing days.... when the wife wont see me smoking them lol........... Quote

RiskKid. Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 La Gloria Corona Gorda & Fuente 858 are my "go to" favs. Great smokes at a relatively reasonable price. Quote
Cigarlover 1 Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 C-Gars. Ahhhhh. Love em! Good to see a cigar thread in here. Unfortunately I have cut my cigar smoking way back in the past year. Can't smoke in public in Mass. I came up here from Pittsburgh where you could go anywhere and have a cigar and a drink. I really miss being able to go out and do that. Combine that with the cold weather (I smoke in the house sometimes but don't really like to) and it makes it a chore at times to enjoy a good cigar. At any rate on with the list. I love trying different cigars so I'll give just about anything a shot. My go to cigars when I don't have the cash to smoke what I want are Fuente 858s, LGC Series R Robusto and CAOs. I like the Criollo, it's got a nice earthy flavor. When I splurge, which is more than I should, I like an Ashton VSG, Fuente Don Carlos, OPUS, Padron Anniversary. Others in the mix of fav's are the Rocky Patel Vintage line, Torano 1916, H. Upmann Cameroon. RyJ Reserve Real are good for the money. If I'm in the mood for something strong I'll have an Puros Indios. Riskkid, Been super busy lately and haven't had a chance to sit down with my "birthday cigar" yet. But they'll be a full report when I do. I forgotten about it. Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted April 16, 2007 Super User Posted April 16, 2007 I prefer Jamacian Sinsimelia cigars, but I don't often get the chance. ;D Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Every now and then I like El-Cheapo"s ;D BACWOODS SWEET and Milds The best cigars for me are the ones evryone else is smoking, for me they smell a lot better than they taste. : Quote
Cigarlover 1 Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 I'm with ya there muddy. If I'm out with people smoking I'll hold off a while to light up because I love the way they smell. Quote
Super User Raul Posted April 16, 2007 Super User Posted April 16, 2007 Cohiba Habana Esplendido, that 's my favorite. But I only smoke one of those while fishing, if I ever dare to light one up in the house my wife comes screaming like if the danged house was on fire. > And no, I 'm not going to light one up in the garden while Mrs. Raul is giving me THE LOOK, there 's no pleasure being be under THE LOOK. :-/ Quote
timmyswetarded Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 PUNCH, and Honey <an Austrialian brand dont remember the name Quote
Jeff P. Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 A few years ago I used to smoke them more often than I do nowadays. My favorite sizes of cigar are the robusto and the corona. I don't smoke or chew tobacco, so the longer cigars don't do any good for me they just make me feel bad. Back then I had settled on the Padron cigars as my favorite brand. I really liked them alot, but if I'm not mistaken there was a bad weather year that wiped out a lot of tobacco crops in Honduras, and my local cigar shop stopped carrying them. I have a few forbidden sticks in my humidor right now, that I brought back from Germany last year. Also have a couple Fuente's and a Macanudo. Macanudo was the first cigar I ever tried, I still remember the day. Quote
ohio_bassin Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 MMMMMMMMM I do like a GOOD cigar!!!!! Torano's are my favorite, However Cohiba's and an occassional Aicd are good too. (P.S. wife is cool with it, and even stops by the cigar store and brings me home a treat occassionally.) ;D yea I'm braggin. 8-) Quote
Matits Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 I LOVE EL REY DEL MUNDO RESERVA SALADO. I also like EL REY DEL MUNDO Reals, or the Robusto largos, also by El Rey Del Mundo. I was searching for bass smoking on google, and it came to this site. I joined the site just because of the cigar discussion. I hope the community is active. I just got back into fishing after about 4 years. Quote

Here in the US it is a "little" harder. When I can get my hands on them I LOVE a Bolivar Piramide. I am also a big fan of Fuente Fuente Opus X, which I stock up on in Las Vegas at Casa de Fuente when I am in town. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 Redline- the shop next to my house has the opus X's in stock, lots of them. Let me know if you need a shipment. Quote
