The more I watch this show, the more I like it.  Mike Rowe must be getting paid very well for what he does, including last night's show where he worked making "Poo Pots".  Basically, its a dairy farm where they take the cow manure and turn it into methane to run the farm and then use the dried remnants for making planting pots.  The TV doesn't put out smells (Thank God!), but I found myself almost gagging from the looks on their faces.

I remember another episode where Mike was helping a plumber fix a drain line outside a house.  Of course they had to dig it up, and as Mike's got his hands in the ground he pulls up a handfull, looks at the camera and says, "That's not mud..."  Priceless.

Anyone else laugh at this show as much as I do?

The show wouldn't be as good without Mike. He is hilarious. Without his witty and sarcastic remarks, the show would only be average.

I'm pretty sure I saw the world's dirtiest job, about 15 years ago. Iwas still travelling around as a field tech, and went to a meat packing plant to service some metal detectors. These things are designed to find tiny bits of metal, like saw teeth, filings, and such, in food products, and need regular calibration to assure reliable operation. I got stuck with this call. Put me off meat for about a month.

Any way there's a guy at the front of the line with some thing that looks like a large hole saw on a swing arm. He gets the cow after it's been rigged in the sling, and is dead. He swings the hole saw into place and removes the animal's arshole, and as much of the large intestine as he can yank out.

How would you like to do that for 8 hours a day.

I still can't get that picture out of my mind.

Cheers, ( cheers?)

Yeah, Mike Rowe and Dirty Jobs is a great show! Nasty but great! Another nasty show is Fear Factor, I really couldn't see myself doing that stuff they do on Fear Factor....

Drywall work is pretty much a dirty job, and I don't want a job any dirtier!  ;D ;D ;D

how about the "gooey duck" episode.....im sure i spelled it wrong.  that was interesting.  I also liked the salt mine one, and the aligator farm.  I agree Mike makes the show, hit wit and sarcasm are hilarious.  How about the episode where he was grooming dogs and had to squeeze the poison out of that dogs butt??  ew

Did you guys watch the one from I hink the first season when he was in Mrs. Johnson's (or whatever her name was) basement!! Her septic backed up and it just looked like her toilet threw up all over her basement and they had to clean and sterilize it.  It was disgusting!! I don't know if I could do half the jobs he goes to.
