Super User burleytog Posted April 7, 2007 Super User Posted April 7, 2007 I honestly don't see any coach bringing UK back to where they once were. The rest of the SEC has caught up and passed them. Much like the Alabama football team. Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Hey Burley I agree with you about the SEC but the real challange is gonna be for whole Confrences to catch up with the ACC and the Big East, they are getting stronger all the time. Lsu,Florida,UK are all great programs so they will always be in there. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted April 7, 2007 Super User Posted April 7, 2007 The ACC and Big Least? ;D Thanks Muddy, I needed a good laugh. Quote
Fisher of Men Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 I'm glad someone's happy. . . Now, to find a replacement. Hmmmmmm? :-/ Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 I will bet anyone any where that the Big East becomes thwe dominant confrence within the next 4 years. They sent 4 to march madness 2 to the final 8 one to the final four This is only the 2nd year of the realignment LOOK AT THE CONFRENCE WITH THE NEW TEAMS THE ACC HAS HAD A FINAL FOUR TEAM IN THE LAST 8 finals Quote

Seriously though.....I think its a great hire....he's a very good recruiter which should be awesome with the KY program....KY will be back with a vengance...JMHO I agree Fisher of Men....this is a kick in the butt for the Aggie program Quote
RiskKid. Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 I'm glad someone's happy. . . Now, to find a replacement. Hmmmmmm? :-/ Stay away from Bruce Pearl and my Vols ;D Quote

Deb Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Now that BG has accepted the coaching job at Ky, does that make him a BLUE GILL? : : Quote
tallydude Posted April 9, 2007 Author Posted April 9, 2007 HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Mom made a funny! ;D (This is where I get uncannily arrogant) I respect all opinions on the website, however, you've got to be crazy to think that Kentucky won't be back winning national championships. We're the most storied program in the history of college basketball. We've had a couple down years, but now there is an excitement in the air once again! Tubby is gone and I'm glad. Great man; I think he'll do well at a lesser program like Minnesota. Do not underestimate the fans that make up the Big Blue Nation. Yes, we have lofty expectations, but that comes from years and years of winning. Other programs and only hope to replicate our success. Pearl is doing nice things and Knoxville and Billy D is establishing a good program in Gainesville, but two titles do not a dynasty make. Face it- Kentucky has been, is now, and shall always be the standard bearer in the SEC. So before we start writing off my boys in Lexington, let's just remember a couple numbers- 7 National Titles 13 Final Fours- 43 SEC Titles 25 SEC Tournament Titles and oh yeah, more wins THAN ANYONE ELSE IN BASKETBALL Be careful fellas, cause the Holy Roman Empire of College Basketball is about to rise again! Fisher of Men Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Be careful fellas, cause the Holy Roman Empire of College Basketball is about to rise again! (Half-hearted) Woo-hoo! Seriously, I wish you guys well! I dont' think there's any chance of BCG leaving you guys except for the NBA, but I don't see him doing that for several years. Well, looks like we'll have to make do with Turgeon from Wichita State. Then again, BG came from a lower teir school (UTEP, right?). Perhaps with the talent we have, we can make a run again next year. :-/ Quote
tallydude Posted April 9, 2007 Author Posted April 9, 2007 It looks like you're going to keep your recruits, so that's good. If memory serves, you have a MONSTER center coming in by the name of Deandre Jordan. Really great catch for you. Turgeon is a good coach, and hopefully you'll continue to have success. BTW, what do the Aggie fans think about Billy Clyde leaving? Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted April 9, 2007 Super User Posted April 9, 2007 Of course Turgeon is good. He is a Jayhawk. I belive he was on the "short list" when we hired Self as well. Quote
ring fry Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Good hire for both Kentucky and aTm. Former KANSAS player to coach in aggieland and Billy G. going to coach in an arena named after a former KANSAS player. Quote
tallydude Posted April 10, 2007 Author Posted April 10, 2007 Yeah, if only Kansas could get close to us in wins! Quote
Murray Posted April 11, 2007 Posted April 11, 2007 you cant touch the sec in football...as much as i HATE auburn, tennersee, and florida. I'm always proud of the conference when teams do well. ROLL TIDE Quote
