Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted April 5, 2007 Super User Posted April 5, 2007 Well, last night I gave my two weeks notice to my second employer...Lowe's. The money I was making just didnt justify the amount of time I lost in the last 15 months. When I did my taxes, I figured that I worked more than 3100 hours last year. I got a few things paid off, bought some things that I needed and something for the g/f that I can cover in a later post For those of you out there still working a f/t and p/t job, my hat is off to you. For those of you considering it, I recommend against it unless it is out of necessity. Looks like there is some serious fishing to be done in the immediate future!!! Wayne Quote
Deb Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 Sounds like you have your priorities straight. Enjoy the fishing, you've earned it! Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted April 5, 2007 Super User Posted April 5, 2007 Good for you. More time to fish. What's not to like? I sometimes wish I could do the same, but my part-time gig makes me about $25k a year. It's kind of hard to leave that much money on the table. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted April 5, 2007 Posted April 5, 2007 bought some things that I needed and something for the g/f that I can cover in a later post uh oh...... Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted April 6, 2007 Super User Posted April 6, 2007 I have doen the 2 job thing most of my adult life...............On our farm things really slow down in mid-late november, so I take a part time 2-3 night a week, 3-4 hour a pop, job on neighbors farms milking cows (we have no cows to milk). It doesn't ammount to much, but pays for my fishing stuff, and keeps all of my real job $$ going to bills/wife/kids, when we thaw out and get busy on our farm I stop.......for one so I can fish in the evenings, and once we start workng in the feilds, I am busy enough with this job, let alone 2. Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted April 6, 2007 Author Super User Posted April 6, 2007 Thanks for the reassurance. I definitely think I made the right move. When I get more serious about getting into a permanent house, I am leaving on good terms so I can keep that door open in the future to return. bought some things that I needed and something for the g/f that I can cover in a later post uh oh...... You got it.... Wayne Quote
BadKarma42 Posted April 10, 2007 Posted April 10, 2007 Dude, you better get moving on that deal. Between yours and mine and honeymoons we are going to be cutting things tight for the '08 tourny trail! Quote
