frogtog Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 Man I feel for you,It's hard to find a good fishing partner. It takes years to train them then they up and leave you. Well at least you will have somewhere to stay when you go to Flordia. Quote
justfishin Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 If you could find a 20 year old girl with raven black hair, a pair of aces and a bubble butt whom loved fishing, it wouldn't be so bad !!! Quote

Super User Dan: Posted March 14, 2007 Super User Posted March 14, 2007 That sucks man. My usual fishing partner goes to school in New Orleans so I only get to fish with him on rare breaks. Most of the time I have to fish by myself. I hope you can find a new fishin' partner Quote
Super User Long Mike Posted March 14, 2007 Super User Posted March 14, 2007 Dominick, I would love to be able to fill the space left by your buddy, but there ain't no way I'm ever gonna move to Yankee Land. There is too much snow, summer lasts for only a week, and there are too many people who like to eat salmonella bread with salsa seeds. ;D Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Thats Similinella bread with says who seeds' Summer whats that? Quote
justfishin Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 She must be a good woman Muddy. I am glad for you. Guys our age and a 20 year old girl would not work anyway. We would be in the ICU !!!,LOL. ;D ;D Quote
Super User burleytog Posted March 14, 2007 Super User Posted March 14, 2007 MudMan, you're always welcome in the back of my boat. We'll be Team MookNeck. Quote

BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted March 14, 2007 BassResource.com Administrator Posted March 14, 2007 Hey Muddy, All things happen for a reason, my friend. You may not know it now, but it will work out for the better for you. For example, I had a great fishing partner for 4 years. We fished at least 100-150 days together every year. We did very well in tournaments, and were great friends. Suffice to say, we had everything down pat to a system that worked very well. Then he got a divorce, which turned his world upside down. He backed off on fishing to the point I needed a different partner. I helped him through his divorce, but he wasn't the same after that. Years went by and didn't find a partner that I clicked with. My fishing suffered as a result. My buddy and I still remained friends, but he wasn't into fishing anymore. When Keri and I announced to him we were getting married, he disappeared. He just stopped returning my calls, never contacted me again. To this day, I have no idea why. So... why am I telling you this? Because Keri has turned out to be the best fishing partner I've ever had in my life!! When you meet her, you'll know why. She's very much into fishing, very good at it, and we work as a team at every tournament. My fishing has improved as a result, and this year I think I have a shot at winning a few again. I finally feel I'm back in the saddle again, but even better than before. So... while I miss Frank and still wonder why he cut off our friendship, I found a better partner, both in fishing and in life. I believe in my soul you'll follow the same path - only better because I'm certain you'll still be great friends with Ron for the rest of your long life. Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Thanks Glenn There is more to this than you know about. My girlfriend Elaine has agreed to give bass fishing a try Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted March 14, 2007 Super User Posted March 14, 2007 I'm really sorry you lost your partner Muddy. I don't know what I'd do if I lost mine, who happens to be my dad. Some of my best memories growing up have been made on fishing trips with my dad. Through fishing and boxing, we are very close. The thought has crossed my mind, with him getting up in age, how hard it will be for me when is he gone. Greatfully we have made some fantastic memories, and I look forward to making more of them. Here's to all the dads out there! Quote
justfishin Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Well spoken Glenn. You are a alright guy in my book. ... and a hearty cheers to all the Dads out there as well --- Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Fishing is fishing, it's more about the sharing. Muddy and Ron have been support systems for each other, good times and bad and I think THAT'S the main thing you'll be missing but like Glenn said, you guys will be friends forever. With the phones we have these days, he's never more than 10 numbers away. Quote

Zel Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Feel for you Muddy Tough breaking in a new fishing partner. Two fishing seasons down and my son-in-law is starting to come around. Maybe we can meet up and hit Mauch Chunk a couple of times this season and also work on the C.A.S.T. event in the process. Is there an initiation process to Mookdom? Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 You gotta be old enough to shave to be a full fledged mook Quote
RiskKid. Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 Bummer Muddy.....maybe you and the Lil Lady could think about FL instead of NC. Don't let it keep you off the lake though....I fish alone most of the time...from reading his posts sounds like Avid does alot of fishing by himself too. I find it very peaceful and enjoyable. Know you'll miss him but HEY....you got Elaine and the rest of us BR MOOKS and the Posse too! Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted March 14, 2007 Super User Posted March 14, 2007 I already told ya I would take you fishing... Quote
