Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted March 15, 2007 Super User Posted March 15, 2007 I have been putting mine off for about 5 years now :-[ Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted March 15, 2007 Super User Posted March 15, 2007 The sooner you get it done, the sooner it'll be over. Quote
skillet Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 I was so young (for some reason, mine started coming really early at a strange angle) when they took them. It is one memory I don't mind being unable to recall ;D. My thoughts will be with you my friend... As Ever, Skillet Quote
Hawgin Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 Stroz- I will be happy to tell you my experience.....AFTER you have yours removed. Please tell me you are going to an oral surgeon, and not to your regular dentists office. I made that mistake. Quote
tipptruck1 Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 I also have mine grow in the wrong way. Yes you heard that right they grew the wrong way and never had a problem and still don't. Well the lady that looked at them must have hated men that day she wanted to pull them on the spot. So she got her boss in there to look at them and asked me a few questions. He asked some of the basic questions. Well after asking these questions he like there fully growen. So he like theres no need to pull them if there not hurting him. Quote
Cigarlover 1 Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 The sooner you get it done, the sooner it'll be over. And the less it will hurt. The older you get the longer it takes for the body to heal. I had mine taken out when I was young and I'm glad I did. It hurt bad enough then. Of course they were all growing in wrong and I had to have them cut out. : Quote
squid Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 HAD MINE TAKEN OUT AT MY FIRST DUTY STATION.....CHECKED IN AND THEN GOT 2 DAY OFF....WOO HOO....LOVE THE MEDS IN THE MILITARY....LOL Quote
basspro05 Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 got mine pulled out two years ago, took em about 30 minutes, and i was pain free for three days afterwards, then they started hurtin' really bad during the middle of a fishing tournament, i'd like to forget that pain Quote
BASS fisherman Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 Tooth pain is unbearable. I had a toothache the year before last and it kept me up at night when it hurt. I got that oragel crap and it worked a little bit for the pain. Then it seemed to quit working so in my agony I put on a bunch, around half the tube. Don't ever do that! Food tasted funny for about 3 months after that. I think I overdosed a bit on that crap. Good luck brother! When my sister had her's pulled, she ate food that was put in the blender, and then she used a straw to eat. Have fun with the meds though! Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 I had 3 pulled at once, about 4 yrs ago. I swear on my nana's grave I ate steak that same night, no pain killers. (I wasn't hording them, I actually didn't need them) Quote
fishbear Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 I do not remember mine being pulled. They started an i.v. and that was all I remember till I was being awakened by this real cute nurse. :o I am glad they put me out.. they had to chisel mine out. I was on extra strength vicodin for a week..... man that stuff really messes with your head... just be careful not to get a dry socket.... the surgery pain will be like a cake walk if you develop a dry socket....... Quote
Deuceu72 Posted March 15, 2007 Posted March 15, 2007 What a bunch of wimps! ;D I had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled at once.............was pretty easy considering I have a............a 7 unit bridge, 4 crowns, 10 root canals, and peridontical surgery............ ;D Quote
stroz Posted March 16, 2007 Author Posted March 16, 2007 Well I'm alive. But it wasn't much fun and I'm abit out of it right now. But thanks for the encouragement. I guess right after I was out of it and asked my wife if she had her camera. It's preety funny I'll post it soon. Ok now you can bring on your horror stories. once again thanks for the support guys.... Stroz Quote
Gotta Love It Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 Good luck!!! The best part is the pain meds!!! Make sure you take them with alcohol!!! Just Kidding Quote
Hawgin Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 Okay, here is what happened to me. My dentist decided that they should come out, and told me it was a pretty quick and painless process, so I let him do it instead of going to an oral surgeon. They decided to do all 4 of them at the same time. The pulled the two on top without much problem although they quickly learned that I'm a bleeder. However, when they started on the bottom two they quickly figured out that the roots had curled up like fish hooks. If they pulled them straight out it would have torn up my lower jaw and caused nerve damage. Instead of quitting right then and referring me for surgery, they decided to take both of the lower teeth out in 4 pieces each. So for the next 3 hours (as I'm awake the whole time) they proceeded to drill, chisel, yank and hammer them out. My mouth and jaw were visably bruised, I bled for 3 days, and was sore for 2 weeks. Glad things went better for you. Quote
Cigarlover 1 Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 Hawgin, I had that same thing happen except it was only one tooth and was a molar. To this day one of the worst sounds was of the dentist cutting my tooth in half. ugh. They even had to cut a flap in my gum for the hook of the root to pop out. Not fun. Kids take care of your teeth while your young. You'll be glad later in life. Quote
Live.2.Fish Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 I went to an oral sergon, was put completely under and didn't feel a thing. They took all four. Never really had any pain at all. Just keept popin' meds for a couple of days. The worst part was not being able to eat real food for weeks. Now I hope that anyone who gets their wisdom teeth taken out never gets "dry sockets". I hear that is anything but pleasant. Quote
utser Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 the oral surgeon had to dig all 4 of mine out, good thing i was out. the pain afterward was nothing compared to the pain before. didnt do no pain meds. Quote
