Super User Bassn Blvd Posted February 25, 2007 Super User Posted February 25, 2007 I need a fricking chew so darn bad I can't stand it. HELP.........I started to pace the floors just trying to keep my mind off it. Quote
Super User Dan: Posted February 25, 2007 Super User Posted February 25, 2007 try the sunflower seeds!!!!!!!! either that or rent a movie, er, unless you would usually chew during a movie which I would. Quote
Super User burleytog Posted February 25, 2007 Super User Posted February 25, 2007 Gum or mints are also good choices. You need something to take your mind off the cravings. Heck, even sex works in a pinch. Quote
Triton21 Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 I know how you feel. I quit smoking 10 days ago after smoking for 45 years. I am eating everthing in sight. If I keep this up my buddy will have to roll me in the boat at Lake Fork. Kelley Quote
justfishin Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Sunflower seeds works well but, you really need to go to your family Doc. He has some aids that will help you. You went this far, go to the Docs office. Quote
fishbear Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Go to your local drug store and get the nicotine patches.. it will help, trust me.. Then just slowly work down in the strength of a patch.. the actual dependency goes away in 3-4 days.. the mental part, takes weeks.. you just have to tell yourself you are gonna beat it.. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!! Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted February 25, 2007 Author Super User Posted February 25, 2007 I'm doing it! I AINT giving up. The wife bought me 2 bags of jolly ranchers, bag of life savers and seeds. Hope I won't need the dentist with all the junk. LOL..... Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted February 26, 2007 Super User Posted February 26, 2007 I hear that the patches do work. Quote
Cigarlover 1 Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Hope I won't need the dentist with all the junk. LOL..... Hey think about it this way. A couple cavities are a lot better than cancer of the mouth. Good Luck! My wife's trying to quit smoking cigs right now and it's brutal. Tobacco's not an easy thing to quit. But the benefits are tremendous. Quote
Panamoka_Bassin Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 A buddy of mine got off the chaw a few years ago, and told me that "Big League Chew" bubble gum was great since it came in a pouch and he could wedge a blob in his mouth just like chaw, which somewhat alleviated the mental addiction Quote
