That's my kinda car and I love Fords  ;)

I wonder what kind of times those cars would run in the quater mile? The way I see it, if you have 1,000 HP and your not boiling the rear tires off in every gear. Your scared of the car. I own a 1963 Nova and it'll smoke street tires off it up to a 60 mph roll. With out slicks it is pointless to floor it.

Flippin - I'd imagine those would both be bottom 10 second/high 9 second cars with nasty fast trap speeds, severely traction limited. Neither of the cars launched real hard, and it sounds like the car we're 'riding in' spun the tires bad up to the rev limiter in either second or third (hard to tell).

Definately nasty rides... Nothing I'd want to run into at a stop light.

PS - Nova boiling the tires from a 60 mile an hour roll, eh? How's the motor set up? Got any pictures?

Hard to imagine wasting the potential of a Ford GT just going in a straight line.

I am not a ford fan either! Ford doesn't last as long as dodge or chevy...which is why I came up with the acronym for FORD

Found

On

Road

Dead

or

Freaken (other words can be used ;D ;))

Old

Rebuilt

Dodge ;D

I'm not much a Ford fan either, but the GT is in a class of it's own.  I honestly feel it drives better than my Lamborghini - the shifter is like butter.

John J,

When did you come up with Found On Road Dead?  That's sure been around for a long time.....

It's not hard to imagine how good the GT is when you consider it was a retro rebuild of one of the greatest racing sportscars of all time.

Pic of me and my 2001 F150 Lightning running a 12.531 second 1/4 mile @ 108.69mph.  It's my daily driver and now has 102,000 miles on it.  I modded it myself and the only things changed to it at the track was to change out the rear tires(MT ET Streets) and wheels.  It has surprised many a sports car 8-).

In the standing ¼ mile one does not want to spin the tires, if you are boiling the rear tires off in every gear you are not going forward.
