Fish Man Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 who do u guys think is gonna win da 500?? my vote is in for Stewart Quote
basspro48 Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 Jimmie Johnson is my favorite driver, hence basspro48, but I would really like to see Mark Martin or Elliot Sadler bring it home. Quote
Fish Man Posted February 18, 2007 Author Posted February 18, 2007 even tho i say i want stewart to win if anyone except JR wins ill be happy(everyone i know is a junior fan....really annoying no offence to any fans on BR ;D Quote
fishbear Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 Although I am a heretic in the south, and can not stand Nascar.... I have followed Mark Martin for years, what I could read in the paper or on the net... I would have to pull for him IF I really was interested... Quote
Fish Man Posted February 18, 2007 Author Posted February 18, 2007 RAWR!!!!!! :'( WELL 20'S OUT :'( Quote
Floridabassking352 Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 I HATE race car driving. I find it incredibly boring to watch cars drive in a circle 500 times. Quote
basspro48 Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 c'mon baby 17 more laps and ole Mark has got it!!!!!!!!!! Quote
Super User Sam Posted February 18, 2007 Super User Posted February 18, 2007 I don't think either Jimmie Johnson or Carl Edwards will win. Mark Martin may do it this year. As for Junior and Stewart and the Bush Boys I think they will give it a good run but this could be Mark Martin's year. But who knows? Quote
Fish Man Posted February 18, 2007 Author Posted February 18, 2007 yea with 8 to go martin is lookin good but who knows alot can happen Quote
basspro48 Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 NOOOO first Jimmie and now Truex is gone too > Now its gonna be a green-white-checker, and I bet Kyle Busch is gonna do something stupid as always and ruin it for Mark > Quote
basspro48 Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 .....I'm speechless....It was a good finish but man do I hate Harvick now > > > Quote
Fish Man Posted February 19, 2007 Author Posted February 19, 2007 tell ya wut Bowyer an that jack daniel car had a nice an smooth finish too Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 19, 2007 Super User Posted February 19, 2007 Woo-Hoo! Been sittin' here with my 29 hat on all day. I really didn't see it coming, but... WOW! My biggest complaint about NASCAR, besides all the cheating, is the running going into The Chase finals. So many of those late races look like they are choryographed, drivers just satified with "placing." Well, today at Daytona we got to see some racin'. Great day, great race and EVERYTHING I look for from Nascar. Speed, drama and guys that REALLY want to win...Bravo! Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted February 19, 2007 Super User Posted February 19, 2007 I am not a fan, but I caught the end. Loved the car that crossed the finish line up-side down and on fire!!!!! He gets the style points in my book. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Yup, GREAT FINISH but you gotta feel for Martin. He's still a great sport though, giving a very respectable interview. Congrats 29! Quote
Lightninrod Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Dang it! My DW and I were pulling for Martin . If nascar had thrown the yellow when that last wreck started............ :-/ But as my DW pointed out, there were no more laps needed so maybe no yellow was needed? Quote
basspro48 Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 I wonder if Boyer would like the title of "the guy who finished upside-down and on fire" ;D Quote
Fish Man Posted February 19, 2007 Author Posted February 19, 2007 idk bout him but i sure no that i would Quote
Fish Man Posted February 19, 2007 Author Posted February 19, 2007 BTW who else found stewarts wreck to be eirily similar to when erndhart wrecked several years ago?? :-/ Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 19, 2007 Super User Posted February 19, 2007 So guys, seriously...do you know the rules? 6, 8, 10 cars(?) are involved in a MAJOR wreck and no yellow flag? Now, NASCAR is so crooked, I wouldn't put anything past them and remember "I'M ROUTING FOR 29", but that just seems RIDICULOUS! Quote
cbfishalot Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 It would of been great to so Martin win the race but what a finish!!!!!! RW I see your point but I hate when the races finish on yellow. If it wasn't the last 1/2 lap the yellow would have came out. ITS ALL ABOUT RATINGS IN ALOT OF SPORTS NOT JUST NASCAR!!!!!!!!! Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted February 19, 2007 BassResource.com Administrator Posted February 19, 2007 I gotta agree with RW on this one. Just for safety sake, if for none other, the caution should have been thrown instantly.... maybe if it were Jr. leading they would've thrown the caution earlier. Then again, I'm not so certain Martin would've liked to have won under those circumstances. Hard to say. Just seems very odd they delayed throwing the caution. They crossed the finish line, but NASCAR says it officially ended under caution. Huh?? Seems kinda suspect, too, that a full-time driver would win vs. part time if they delayed the caution. I smell ratings. On a positive note, Sadler finished 6th after dragging the tail end of the field for most of the day. He needed to make up the points, so I can't complain about that! Quote
Fish Man Posted February 19, 2007 Author Posted February 19, 2007 u gotta give some props to stewart for that comeback he had .. he went from 1 to 40 to first in around 60 laps to me thats quite an accomplishment ....to bad he wrecked ...i can only wonder what the turn out wouldve been if he didnt wreck but as always the magic word is IF Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 No caution because there was less than a full lap left. Quote
