Siebert Outdoors Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 I've been thinking about posting this topic for a few days. Reason I havent is I couldnt think of anything I was scared of. Spiders, No Snakes, No any other animals, NO Storms, No People, No Heights or small spaces, NO But I finally figured it out. Needles going into a vein, figured it out from a blood drive. Just gives me the heebejeebies. So whats yours? Quote

Nick B Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 I can't say I have any phobias, there are things I don't like but nothing I am deathly afraid of. I guess maybe I havent found it yet Quote
Valascus Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 There really isn't much. After the accident I had falling through a hole doing carpentry work I have a fear of FALLING...not really afraid of heights. I am not really afraid of needles, but I definitely don't like them. I've been in a situation like this before and it scared the bejeezus outta me. When I was 12 I was fishing next to the Meramec River in the Huzzah Valley late one night for catfish. It was pretty hard to see and all I had was one small flashlight. I started to hear a lot of leaves getting rustled about on the ground. I couldn't see what was doing it, but it was making me feel uncomfortable. I was about 10 minutes walk away from the campsite. About 3 minutes into my walk back my flashlight's bulb burnt out. While I was stopped trying to fix it, I heard the rustling and realized that whatever it was was following me. It was pretty creepy feeling like I was being tracked and I couldn't see what was doing the tracking. I was right next to the river and only had to keep following it's banks to get back to camp. Whatever was following me was definitely bigger than a raccoon, but I think smaller than a deer. I didn't panic and just kept moving slowly fearing that if I ran it would chase and overtake me. It followed me until I got within sight of the camp, but didn't advance any further due to the campfires built. I never saw what it was. I was too creeped out to go night fishing for the rest of the trip. My Mom's boyfriend at the time said that it could have been a bobcat, maybe a coyote, or a stray dog. THAT was creepy. When I am out night fishing on the banks, to this day I keep multiple flashlights w/extra batteries as well as extra batteries to my L.E.D headlamp. Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 In this order: PINSTRIPES The Bronx Dr.Phil My EX Mother in law ( I break out in hives) wearing a neck tie Barney Quote
Floridabassking352 Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 These are my phobias (no particular order): 1. Spiders 2. Dark, murky water 3. Alligators (only when I'm fishing from shore or my small 6ft inflatable boat. I don't get scared if I see one but it's a psychological thing when I'm wondering if they're near me underwater). 4. Having someone break into my house at night. Quote
squid Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 I don't get the feet thing.... :-? I can even understand Barney...but feet? Quote
BassPonder72 Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Feet are gross. They stay couped up and sweat all day, they stay in contact with the ground. It's completely irrational I know but, that's why its a phobia. I seriously jump up and move quickly when feet get in my vicinity. Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted January 26, 2007 Super User Posted January 26, 2007 For me, it's hearing tires squealing. Eleven years ago I was stopped at a traffic light and a delivery van slammed into the rear-end of my car. Six spine surgeries and alot of physical therapy later I still cringe when I hear that sound. BASS fisherman Posted January 26, 2007 Posted January 26, 2007 Being in water to an extent. If the water is clear thats ok, but anything like a lake with stained, murky, or muddy water will not see me swimming in it. I always feel like there is some man eating monster in there just waiting for me to jump in. Fishing in it, or out of a boat on the water is fine, doesn't bother me in the least. I also have a fear of parasitic bugs. It wigs me out to think something can live in you. I would cut my own arm off to get rid of something living in my arm. As fast as I possibly could too. I also don't like bugs if they are on me, unless it is on my terms. Such as reaching my hand out and letting it crawl on me. When I'm sleeping and I feel something crawling up the side of my leg, look out! Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted January 27, 2007 BassResource.com Administrator Posted January 27, 2007 I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the dentist yet. Although I don't mind dental work at all. Mine: 1. The house burning down 2. Earthquakes 3. Paranormal experiences 4. Blanking at a tournament. Quote
