Guest avid Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 I'm sitting here making my usual posts and reply's on BassResource.com when my wife calls in from the other room that Anna Nicole Smith collapsed and died. This is still a breaking story, so there are no details as of this moment. My first impulse is that the death of her son within days of having a baby, along with the usual turmoil of her life overwhelmed her. I'm suspect she was self medicating in addition to whatever her MD's prescribed. She was troubled beautiful celebrity. Not unusual I'm afraid. May she rest in peace. Avid Quote
justfishin Posted February 8, 2007 Posted February 8, 2007 Yea, I hope she is happy in heaven now. She was one gorgeous woman whom had a ninth grade education and made it to Hollywood. They chewed her up and made a shell out of her for money. Right now, Geraldo and Greta are speculating and bashing her as I guess most of these lowlifes are. There are good media people out there but, the ones like I mentioned above are the lowest forms of life to me. They will take a tragedy and stomp the players into the ground until no one will listen anymore, take the money and run and wait for the next victim. Freagin parasites :-/. Quote
Super User Sam Posted February 8, 2007 Super User Posted February 8, 2007 She was only 39 years old. Anyone who dies at 39 is a tragic event. As for the TV talking heads, they have to talk and speculate about something. Remember the coverage that horse got last week? It is sick. Just sick. Quote
Tom Bass Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Anyone that DIES period, is a tragic event. She was not an honorable human being. Rest in peace and God Bless Her. She is gone. Quote
edbassmaster Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 I think the saddest way to go is suicide...and thats basically how she went. She was slowly killing herself. She was lost. I feel sad for her although I was never a fan...just a sad way to go. Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted February 9, 2007 Super User Posted February 9, 2007 Who is she???? Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Hey Fluke I see you do not keep ABREAST with the news either Quote
paparock Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (February 8, 2007) -- According to a credible source, an employee of Anna Nicole Smith found her in her room in the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. The employee pulled back a sheet and discovered that she appeared to have choked on her own vomit. The same source claims that Smith took what was referred to as a "children's sedative," and had "kept passing out" before her death. AccessHollywood.com has learned from this same source that one of the attending physicians at Memorial Regional Hospital was Dr. Randy Katz. When we contacted Dr. Katz, he acknowledged that he was indeed an attending physician, but Dr. Katz would not comment on any specifics related to his care of Smith. (CBS) HOLLYWOOD, Fla. On Friday, we might get some answers about what killed Anna Nicole Smith. The sudden death if the curvaceous beauty was not only stunning, but it's also the beginning of a battle over her baby and her fortune. Sources tell CBS 2's Scott Weinberger that investigators found illegal narcotics as well as prescription medications in Anna Nicole's Florida hotel room. Sources also tell CBS 2 that investigators removed eight bags of evidence from her hotel room. Her body is now at the Broward Co. Medical Examiner's Office. A toxicology report will determine if the drugs played a role in her death, and an autopsy is scheduled for this morning. Sources in Florida tell CBS 2's Tamsen Fadal that if Anna Nicole died of natural causes, the autopsy results could be released quickly. However, definitive test results could take weeks. Of course, Anna Nicole's tragedy evokes memories of her idol, Marilyn Monroe, who died from a drug overdose at age 36. Anna Nicole's last appearance on television was one month ago. She appeared with her husband, Howard K. Stern at a boxing match at the very same hotel where she was found unconscious -- the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Fla. According to eyewitness Elizabeth Martinez, "We just see the ambulance. They pushed her in -- just shove her in really fast." Police said that Anna Nicole's bodyguard called the hotel operator to get help to her sixth floor room after a nurse traveling with the former Playboy Playmate and her husband found her unresponsive. Smith was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors said she was dead on arrival. Seminole Police Chief Charlie Tiger said, "The cause of death will be determined by the medical examiner." On Thursday, Medical Examiner Joshua Pepper said, "Sometimes the findings are very obvious at the time when the autopsy is done. Sometimes the finding is more subtle and requires additional microscopic and chemical examination." A Life In The Spotlight Most of Anna Nicole Smith's sensational life was spent in the spotlight. The busty Texas-born beauty was a topless dancer at strip club before she made the cover of Playboy magazine in 1992. She captivated readers with her Marilyn Monroe looks, and in 1993, she became Playboy's "Playmate of the Year." Anna Nicole was also signed a contract with Guess Jeans, appearing in TV commercials, billboards and magazine ads. In 1994, she married 89-year-old oil tycoon J. Howard Marshall. His death in 1995 sparked a feud over his fortune with Marshall's son. The California Supreme Court awarded $474 million to Smith, but it was later overturned. In May 2006, the U.S. Supreme Court revived her case, ruling that she deserved another day in court. In September, Smith's 20-year-old son Daniel died in his mother's hospital room in the Bahamas. A mixture of drugs was to blame. His death came just days after she gave birth to a daughter. There is still a question of who the father is. "I just feel horrible for Danielynn that her mom is not around. And Anna was a great mom. I don t care what you hear, she was a great mom," said Smith's lawyer, Ron Rale. "She went through a lot of heartache in her life and it was hard for her to deal with it," said Tal, who worked for Anna Nicole. Of course, the bigger question remains: What happened Thursday that left Anna Nicole Smith dead at the age of 39? The Latest News --Sources tell CBS 2 that drugs were found in Anna Nicole's hotel room -- both narcotics and prescription meds. --An autopsy is scheduled for today. --There's also an emergency paternity hearing scheduled in Los Angeles today. We still don't know who the father of her baby is and hundreds of millions of dollars are at stake. Quote
Fisher of Men Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Hey Fluke I see you do not keep ABREAST with the news either Muddy, you are a turkey!! Seriously, This just goes to prove that fame and fortune aren't all they're cracked up to be. I 'm glad God chose for me to be poor and fameless. Life's less complicated that way. Very sad. Quote
Rattlinrogue Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 And the sad part,I'm afraid,is all the leeches that made up her entourage are only interested in who gets the money. Quote
CrazedL.IFisherman Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 While i agree with all of you that its sad she died and more importantly anyone dies, and also that the media is absolutely disgusting, and i know the way our media works detaling everything but its a waste of time to even cover the story the way they have and will continue, this is all my personal opinion but she was not respectable at all. She married a man she never loved, an 89 year old man just for his gigantic stack ofmoney, she was in the lime light often making a mockery of herself, drunk and or drugged up on national tv, her tv show if you even caught 5 minutes of it like myself was a joke, regardless of the sad events about her son, she left her baby daughter to grow up with no mother, its to be determined who the father is, its all a sick mess to be honest, people who are famous like this should be ignored, it should be announced that she in fact was dead and condolances given and thats it, move on, shes not worth all of the wasted ink and writings, once again just my opinion- Jon Quote

I have to agree with Tom and others that any death (especially at a young age) is tragic. Another thing to learn here is that no matter how good you think you've got it, no one is exempt from death. I agree that her life doesn't leave behind a very good legacy, but who are we to put her down for it. The most positive thing we can do is learn from it. What if she were your sister or daughter? Just another .02- Fisher Quote
edbassmaster Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 Fisher and Crazed are both right...had anyone here said anything negative about her while she was alive we all would have agreed, but now that she's dead, ya kinda feel bad about sayin those things. Bottom line is, her life and death were both a tragedy. Quote
Guest avid Posted February 13, 2007 Posted February 13, 2007 I don't think she has any real wealth. That lawsuit was has not been settled. So her exhusbands family still has all of his money. She made money off her endorsements etc, but let's face her lifestyle is pretty costly. nope, the real money is in the story. Let's see how many books get published. Quote

GOOD FINALLY IT'S ABOUT TIME THE BODY CAN ONLY TAKE SO MANY DRUGS Wow Thats some hard judgement. I have battled the disease of addiction for a long time currently I am clean over 14 years, I pray for her soul. I dont get caught up in the whole star thing She shouldnt be glorified for using but she sure the heck shouldnt be condemed either Judge no one you don,t know from which rock they crawled out from under. cabela10 Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 Sorry Muddy, I just have no sympathy for a lady that is a leach and a money sucker. She was not a good person. It's tragic that she dead, but it was bound to come since she couldn't turn away from any type of drug handed to her. She abused drugs and this was going to happen sooner than later. I have never used drugs or smoked a cigarette and I rarely drink. I do not feel bad for those people that crash in a single car accident and they are found to have a blood alcohol level over the legal limit. That may sound harsh, but that is how I stand on the issue and I won't hide that. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 Nobody has claimed her body as of 6:30a today. That's pretty sad. Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 Just goes to show how rude and uncaring you can be Cabela 10 ALCOHOL IS A DRUG it was one of the drugs of my choosing. Tom Bass Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 Gents, There's no sense in fussin' or arguin' over this issue. Makin' a stand on a collapsing hillside makes about as much sense as defending a melting snow fort. No one wins. Quote
