Super User roadwarrior Posted February 15, 2007 Super User Posted February 15, 2007 Man, I sitting in my office in Memphis and the snow is REALLY coming down! It's 22 degess and we already have nearly 1/32" on the cars. If this keeps up we'll have to declare a SNOW EMERGENCY! IKES! Quote
BucketmouthAngler13 Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 It snowed really hard here for a short while, we only got 1/2". Hopefully it is spring from here on! Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Oh man, better send out the national guard when you hit 1/16 ;D Quote
Deuceu72 Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 This thread is not humerous at all my friends......For us poor souls who live in Colorado, we are about to set a record of consecutive days with measurable snow on the ground........We are working on 60 days right now! We have had snow since Dec 21, 2006! 22 Degrees??? Hahahaha.............We havent been above 22 degresss all week! ( Although it's supposed to be nice this weekend!) RW(Kent).............Quit complaining about your 1/64" snow and go catch some more of those pig bronzebacks you have down there! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted February 15, 2007 Author Super User Posted February 15, 2007 This is the VERY BEST time of year for smallmouth in this region, but the TVA won't give me any water on the weekends. Today they're running 48,000 CFS, Saturday the average is 9,700 and -0- from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. That dog don't hunt! Quote
Deuceu72 Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 No water on the weekends?? What a crime! Hell, we havent had water around here, weekdays or weekends since...Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......................oh yea, OCTOBER. I'll be sure to plan a trip to come see you next Febuary RW!!!! ;D ;D ;D Quote
skillet Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Deuceu72, I don't know how you folks out West and the Northeast handle it! :-/ I worked on most of the commercial waterways for about 6 years, tip toed, knee walked and low crawled on snow and ice to keep from going in the river every winter . I hate the stuff, can't stand it, don't even like seeing it on Xmas cards! Here around Memphis and the mid-south, the mind-set is pretty much what RW said. If Dave Brown (local TV weatherman) even hints at SNOW the whole town goes into a panic! The grocery stores and gas stations love it, they sell out of everything they have. You don't even want to get on the streets and "try" to drive. It makes a demolition derby (a Southern happening) seem like a Sunday afternoon drive in the park. Folks act like we're going to be house-bound for 6 months and then the next day or so the sun comes out dries everything up and all's right with the world, until the next SNOW . As Ever, Skillet Quote
Super User Raul Posted February 15, 2007 Super User Posted February 15, 2007 Bring the spray cans northern boys, if you can 't go to Florida make Florida come to you. Quote

Panamoka_Bassin Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Ah, you guys are soft! I'm up at my ski house in VT where we got 30+ inches in the last day and a half! Now, the temp is about 10 and the wind's blowing a gale, maiking feel about 15-20 below...and I'm LOVING every minute of it. Snow was coming down at about 4"/hour and the snow piles are over 30' in some spots...Can't wait for more snow!!! Quote
