Lightninrod Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 From the New Yorker: Long but interesting! And, I've never seen the show  . Dan Quote
Guest avid Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 I've seen the show and have liked it. I'm not one of the devotees. I'm more of a "Unit" guy when it comes to my anti terror tv choices. I thought it was pretty interesting that the writier of the memo advocating for torture in the war against terrorism was using the TV show as a model for what he considered justifyable. Life imitates art? cool stuff, Dan. Quote
Fisher of Men Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Thanks Dan. I've become a "24" watcher this season. I really like the show. I agree that there's alot of torture and violence (prime reason we don't let our 8 year old watch), but I don't see it as having an agenda. Even after reading the article, I just think the show creator has figured out what the audience wants to see. The American TV audience has enjoyed seeing "the enemy" suffer since the days of the old WWII movies. I don't think "24" is much different, just edgier. -Fisher <>< Quote
