Ky_Lake_Dude Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 I skate almost every Friday and Sunday. I can't skateboard worth a crap but Im magic on skates.Anyone else. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 BOTH! I played hockey for 11 yrs when I was younger, was a base for alot I did in the future with skiing. I get on the ice a few times a year now but rollerblade often. I went down to Providence College's arena one night to skate with the senior mens league thinking this was all guys with jobs that like good exercise and a good game but it wasn't like that at all. It was a melee on the little guy, lol. ME. I got very adept at lowering myself to an oncoming hit, sending the attacker head over heels. This ended in an all out brawl in the parking lot later. So much for good clean fun exercise. I havn't put the pads on since. Senko77 also skates. He currently plays and made states or all-stars or somthing recently. Quote
cabela10 Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 I've skated my whole life and I'm 28 right now. I'm currently an assistant coach for my high school team. So I'm on the ice every single day practicing. I use to do the senior men's stuff but there are too many darn fights in those leagues. Those old farts, 30+ ;D, take that stuff way to seriously, they must think they are in high school still or relive the glory days. Quote
Panamoka_Bassin Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 I thought about lacing 'em up yesterday, but the lake wasn't quite frozen yet. I do roller blades, too, for hockey only now. I used to take 'em into my buddy's half pipe when we were in school, but I know I'll hurt myself WAY too badly to even think about it now... Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted January 28, 2007 Super User Posted January 28, 2007 I don't skate, but a buddy of mine does. His name is Kerry Getz. He's a member of my Porsche group. Good guy and he has skills! Quote
Ky_Lake_Dude Posted January 28, 2007 Author Posted January 28, 2007 Like hockey skates? or rollerblades? Either one. Quote
Other. Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 I used to Skateboard but after i wreaked a 180$ skateboard street skating i decided to give up. Kinda sad to because i was real good. Quote
Floridabassking352 Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 I used to skateboard too but gave on it because it's too painful to get better. I got tired of busting up my shins and getting gashes all over my legs. I didn't get very far. An ollie, kickflip, and pop shove-it were the only tricks I was ever able to land. Oh yeah, dropping in on a ramp for the first time got me pretty banged up too (I ended up sliding off the ramp and down the pavement for a good eight feet that got me all cut up). It was my friend's homemade ramp and it was set up in the road. Quote
dink Posted January 29, 2007 Posted January 29, 2007 Three broken arms, mild concussion, cracked rib, trashed ankle..... you get the picture. I still have 2 snowboards and skateboard sitting ten feet from my poles. Started when I was 15... I'll be 34 in April. ;D I might grow up someday. Quote

If you tell me what they are I'll let you know. I get a new pair of skates once a year, and change frames once every 6 months determining how much I skate. Wheels are hit or miss, sometimes it will be 8 months, others a week. Quote

Zel Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 Don't skate, but long time ago my oldest daughter went out a couple of times with some BMX bike kid named Tony Hawk that she met at Camp Woodward. I understand he went on to skateboards or something like that after his BMX days. Quote
