Floridabassking352 Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 Just want to see your opinions on who will win this year. I voted the Colts. Quote
OcBassman63 Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 [move]DA BEARS[/move] Because defense WINS Championships and the Colts is Well lets say WEAK Quote
Super User Dan: Posted January 22, 2007 Super User Posted January 22, 2007 The colts showed they can have defense during the playoffs against the likes of LT and the chargers. I think the Colts will win (even though I want the bears to win) because the AFC is just WAAAAAY more competitive than the NFC right now. Quote

When did the Colts meet the Chargers in the playoffs? How exactly did they show they have defense? They let up 34 points to the Pats real stout defense they have there!!! Quote

They let up 34 points to the Pats real stout defense they have there!!! shoot, your right, I got the good defense of the Pats against the Chargers and the Colts against the Cheifs mixed up. Both had good run offenses that they thought would win them the game, but the Colts and Pats both played better than those two offenses. Point still stands, they've played some good d in the playoffs up until this weekend, and even then, maybe the Pats were just on? You're right about needing defense to win a championship, but you also need offense, something that the Bears can be sketchy on (looking at you, Rex) Quote
carySE406 Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 The Colts have yet to give up 100 yards rushing in the postseason, thats against Larry Johnson, Jamal Lewis and Corey Dillon, not too shabby. Thats not to say we wont see the true Colts defense but sexy Rexy needs to man up before the Bears even think about winning the super bowl. Oh yeah, Colts offense is pretty good too, 32 second half points against a good Pats defense, its going to be an interesting game. Quote
BassChaser57 Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 Not Da Bears--Colts by more than 7 points. Quote
Rattlinrogue Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 I'm pulling for Peyton,Tony(you know the two that couldn't win a big game),and the Colts! Quote
BASSMACHINE Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 I voted for the Colts because they are my team. I live in Indiana so I have to be a colts fan! Of Course I used to be a Bears fan before the Colts rolled into town. So they are now my second favorite team. Going to be a great game. My two favorite teams in the Super Bowl! Going to be easy to route for the Colts but hard to route against the Bears. Either way I guess I'll be happy with the outcome. Quote
squid Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 I THINK IT IS THE TIME OF THE COLTS...BUT WILL BE A GOOD GAME EITHER WAY. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted January 23, 2007 Super User Posted January 23, 2007 I think Peytons big game problems has been against better than average defenses. The Bears defense has been suspect since the loss of Tony Harris and Safety Mike Brown. But looked in form this weekend. Will the Bears be able to rattle Manning? If they do, it will be long day for the Colts. I don't really have a dog in the hunt this year. Peyton is and will be hall of famer after its said and done with the current prolific career he's having thus far. Since the AFC has been dominating the NFC lately, I'll take the Bears only for putting a halt to the gossip of the NFC being so weak. Which by record, they have> Da Bears, 30-27 Hookem Matt Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 going with the colts. The colts dont need a defense when their offense can keep the bears defense on the field the whole time. Just like the 3-4 qts of the colts and pats. Wear down the big defense and start scoring points. Plus who would you rather have as a QB Payton or a middleman that just hands the ball to a running back. AKA Grossman. The colts defense is to fast for a constant run. Grossman will have to pass. And he is past due for a FLOP. COLTS all the way. Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted January 23, 2007 Super User Posted January 23, 2007 The Colts defense only proved that twice this year. And 5 attempts in the second half by the Pats shows nothing considering that the pats were close a to hundred in the first half. They didn't try to establish the running game in the second half. Matt Quote
zimmy Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 COME ON GUYS THE COLTS WON'T BE ABLE TO RUN AGAINS'T THE BEARS AND THAT IS WHAT SETS UP PEYTONS PASSING GAME. # 2 THE COLTS OFFENSIVE LINE WON'T BE ABLE TO KEEP THE BEARS FROM PRESSURING PEYTON AND PEYTON DOESN'T LIKE SCRAMBLING. AND MOST OF ALL THE COLTS SPECIAL TEAMS IS BAD, HESTER SHOULD BE ABLE TO GIVE THE BEARS GREAT FIELD POSITION MAYBE EVEN SOME POINTS . ZIMMY MY PICK DA BEARS Quote
chitwnbass Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 If the patriots had 300 yards in returns against the colts can you imagine what Devin Hester is going to do to the Colts special teams. Wear down the big defense and start scoring points. The Bears defense isn't big, it's scary fast. Urlacher doesn't wear down as the game goes on he just gets meaner and faster. Any team that gameplans to keep the bears D on the field is gameplanning for a loss. The longer the Bears D is on the field the more points off of turnovers they'll have. Indy has to score quick to have any chance against the bears D. They won't be able to sustain a drive, the bears just don't let this happen at all. As far as the Colts D. THEY HAVEN"T PLAYED ANYONE!!! KC and Balitomore are you kidding me. These teams have no offense. The only team they played in the playoffs with an O was the Pats and they got worked. No way Indy's D presents even the slightest speed bump in the bears ground game. Everyone who thinks Indy has a chance is restig thier hopes on Manning. If he goes out and has a game of his life with 400yrds and 5TD's the Colts will have a shot. This is Indy's only hope 1 player. Why am I the only on who realizes this. I don't know how anyone could see how the Colt's have a decent chance. ----- And The Pot Slowly Stirs------ Quote
zimmy Posted January 23, 2007 Posted January 23, 2007 amen plus the bears just got done holding the highest scoring offense in the league to 14 points Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted January 23, 2007 Super User Posted January 23, 2007 History is full of teams with high powered offenses, and so-so defenses and no rings to show!!!!!! Matt Quote
BassPonder72 Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Colts...my good friend's cousin is Terrence Wilkins their kick returner...so I'm biased. Quote
chitwnbass Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 ------THIS JUST IN------- A recent poll shows that %80 of Bass Resource members have no clue when it comes to the sport of football. The Colts you gotta be kidding Me. ;D Quote
Super User FishTank Posted January 26, 2007 Super User Posted January 26, 2007 Colts all the way. Why? One word>Grossman. One dimension against the Colts is not enough. Quote
Danceswithbass Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Colts win Bears cover the 7 pt spread. too many pts for this game. Bears QB will hurt them in this game, sure the D is good but with out Tommy Harris and their starting saftey out they arnt the same team. New Orleans doesnt have the clutch players like Indy, but Bears will give them a good fight. My money is on the Bears to cover but I doubt they can win. Quote
paparock Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 I don't know who will win but I will be pulling for the Colts. Quote
