edbassmaster Posted January 12, 2007 Posted January 12, 2007 Im from Philly so I gotta go wit da Beagles!! Garcia is the hottest thing around here...for now! Plus all the Eagles come in my Cingular store and Vai Sikehema and Jaworski too. I sold phones to Detmer, Dawkins, Torrence Daniels, even Simon Gagne. Who cares, I know. Quote
Super User Alpster Posted January 12, 2007 Super User Posted January 12, 2007 Who Dat gonna beat dem Saints Black & Gold in the Super Bowl I lived in N.O. when they started thier first season. You never saw such devoted fans for a team without a winning season in 20 straight years. They had their first winning season the year after I left, so I'm pretty sure it was my fault. Have been away from there since 1986 but I'm still a Saints fan. I am glad they finally have chance at the Superbowl. Ronnie Quote
Super User Sam Posted January 12, 2007 Super User Posted January 12, 2007 The LSU Fighting Tigers could beat dem Saints. Fortier High School would not win the game but the team would win the fight. Geaux Saints!!!! Quote

Rattlinrogue Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 I've been a Saints fan since I was a little boy.Unlike alot of my friends,I stuck wth 'em year after year instead of changing teams every couple of years(depending on who was the dominate winning team at the time).I live an hour from New Orleans and my daughter attends Tulane,so they are OUR regional team.Just to prove that statement,I've always liked the Raiders(and still do)even though they stink AT THE MOMENT!Geaux Saints! We love y'all! Dem boys are making us proud!!! Quote
Super User Sam Posted January 16, 2007 Super User Posted January 16, 2007 Rattlin, your daughter attends Tulane? We tried to get our son into Tulane but couldn't because we were married. Saints have a great chance to beat Da Bears this weekend and I hope they do. It would be fantastic to see the Saints vs the Colts in the Super Bowl. Remember, other than winning one SEC title while at Tennessee, Peyton has NEVER won any football championships. And neither has Archie or Eli. So why all the excitement over the Mannings? Truth be told, Peyton is an excellent QB but Archie and Eli are not. And do you go to any Tulane football games to help push the attendenace over 5,000? You could drive to Baton Rouge and see real football in a real stadium with real college fans. And I hope you do travel to Red Stick to see the Fighting Tigers. Hey, LSU plays the Green Wennies in the Super Dome this year. Hope you make the game and see some very good football on the Tigers' side of the ball! Quote
Bass XL Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 i'm wanting the colts to go all the way, but dont care if they do (my team didnt make it to theplay offs). But Christ!!! did you see the hit Reggie bush got the other night?? that even hurt me? and did you notice the lady's shirt that said F*** The Eagles??? And it wasnt blurred out. Quote
Super User Catt Posted January 16, 2007 Author Super User Posted January 16, 2007 Archie was an excellent quarter back The league's top 10 Pass attempts: 5 times with a 1st, 3rd & 5th Completions: 4 times with a 1st, 2nd & 3rd Passing yards: 3 times with two 2nd & 3rd Passing TDs: 3 times with a 3rd, 7th, & 8th Archie was also rushed a lot for the Saints because of his offensive line Att: 384 Yards: 2197 TD: 18 Quote
Super User Sam Posted January 16, 2007 Super User Posted January 16, 2007 Archie was good because he had Abromowitz. Abromowitz could catch anything thrown to him. I know Archie did well in his career but he never won any championships. I say him against LSU two times and he was 1-1 with a trememdous comeback in his Baton Rouge debut. But overall, I was more impressed by other QBs during Archie's era than good old Archie. But don't get me wrong, I sat in the old Tulane staduim many times watching Archie and the Saints and was there when Dempsey kicked that 60+ field goal to beat Detroit. That was fantastic! So Geaux Saints. I would love to see them in the Super Bowl after all these years. Quote
Super User Catt Posted January 17, 2007 Author Super User Posted January 17, 2007 Agreed Sam but just think how good Archie could have been if he were not a Saint? Black & Gold in the Super Bowl Quote
MyKeyBe Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 Black & Gold in the Super Bowl I'm pretty sure the Black & Gold won the Super Bowl last year? ;D Quote

Super User Matt Fly Posted January 19, 2007 Super User Posted January 19, 2007 What a story book ending if the Saints could win it all. I bet the lead in stories to Super Bowl Sunday show some flash backs to the days when paper bags was standard issue at the ticket window. Catt, I sure would love to be on Bourbon Street the night the Saints win it all. Could be one of the all time best street parties ever. Good luck, I watched Drew Brees play in HS at Westlake, he has always been a class act. Matt. Quote
Super User Catt Posted January 19, 2007 Author Super User Posted January 19, 2007 The saying down here goes If the Saints don't win the Super Bowl it will be Bush's fault Quote

I don't follow Tulane FB.She got in because she made a 34 on her ACT and got a big scholarship.Otherwise she wouldn't be there. As for LSU,Y'all sure talk some smack for a team that finished 2nd in the West behind Arkansas...LOL! Super User Catt Posted January 20, 2007 Author Super User Posted January 20, 2007 Yea but who's got the boot? And who's #3 in the nation? Quote
Super User Sam Posted January 20, 2007 Super User Posted January 20, 2007 LSU finished behind Arkansas which shows you just how good LSU is in the eyes of the BCS voters. I think it is funny and this fact drives my Auburn friends up a wall since they say LSU finished 3rd in the SEC west while finishing 3rd in the country. Does this make any sense? Only when you relaize that the polls rank certain teams on how they played that week and not their full schedule. With Arkansas blowing their bowl game, the Hogs drop in the polls. With LSU winning its last games and blowing out Notre Dame (it should have been worse) then LSU rises in the polls. I hope it makes sense to you as I am still confused. As for your daughter at Tulane, I am glad for her. Get that degree and then go out and parlay it into a super career. You would be surprised at the amount of reasearch and scholastic work that Tuland and LSU does together. Other than for sports and taking shots at the Green Weenies, Tulane is an excellent school and I am glad your daughter is attending. Just tell her to get that degree and then go out and start paying a lot of F.I.C.A!!!! Geaux Saints! Quote
Rattlinrogue Posted January 22, 2007 Posted January 22, 2007 Thanks Sam.I happen to pull for LSU also.I have a son who as a soph started at TE this year. He's 6'4,235 and runs a 4.69 in his best run.He will make the grade(already has a 27 ACT and a 3.25 gpa).He will get highly recruited (he's also mean as hell on the field). His top 3 choices are 1)LSU 2)Alabama3)Arkansas.Just because I made the remark about LSU don't think that I don't like 'em.I was just joking. The Tigers have an excellent program that anyone should be proud of.Believe me,I was definately pulling for the Tigs in the Sugar Bowl.Hopefully,In a couple of years I'll be joining you at Tiger Stadium to watch my son play.Again, thanks for the kind words about my daughter.Tight lines to 'ya,RR.
