Super User 5bass Posted January 15, 2007 Super User Posted January 15, 2007 Well, Brady and Co. pulled another one out of the bag. > The Chargers seemingly just gave up on New Englands last drive when they scored that last TD and then made the 2 point conversion to tie it up. I was really hoping San Diego could knock NE out of it,I'm sick of seeing them in the playoffs. Now we gotta watch NE take out Indy next week in the AFC Championship. : GO BEARS! (sorry Glenn) Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 lol, everyone thought the chargers were a shoe in,..I love it! Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted January 15, 2007 Super User Posted January 15, 2007 lol, everyone thought the chargers were a shoe in,..I love it! Who is this "everyone" Any team playing Tom Brady and Co. are never a "shoe in's" in my book ....... especially in the playoffs. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Chargers Vs Pats Obvious the Chargers. Just busting everyone, please don't take offense, I could really give a hoot but will always root for my hometeam. Nothing annoys me more than a guy driving around Boston with a yankees sticker on his car (unless he is originally from NY). Like I said, who wins is irrelevant but loyalty says somthing. Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted January 15, 2007 Super User Posted January 15, 2007 No offense taken. Maybe I should have put a ;D or a . Tone is sometimes hard to reflect over the internet. Quote
Nick B Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Well as a Colts fan, I am happier to be playing the Patriots than the Chargers. The Colts have already beat the Pats this year in Foxborough, I know that means nothing in the playoffs, but it does show that it can be done. The resurgence of the Colts D is a a positive for the Colts, and if the O can get it together, this could be the Colts year. Like I said in a previous post I had written off the Colts in their loss to Houston; I am not 100% positive that they could go all the way, but it is possible. I do agree with you fivebasslimit, I would like to see someone other than NE in the Super Bowl. Quote
Super User flechero Posted January 15, 2007 Super User Posted January 15, 2007 5BL, I'm right there with ya! I was pulling for S.D. What a killer for the fans. I just hope Indy can beat them!! On a positive note, the Bears looked like the bye week gave them some new life. I spent part of my childhood in Chicago so the Bears are my hope for the super bowl this year. I think we are due for a re-recording of "Super Bowl Shuffle" ;D ;D ;D ;D hat song was gay even when I was in grade school!! ...lol Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 15, 2007 Super User Posted January 15, 2007 Congrats Russ and to all the Pats fans! Marty is a slug and has ALWAYS been one. I never liked him at Cleveland, thought he was a joke at KC until he made a complete azz out of himself and now San Diego. I hope S.D gets rid of him, too. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted January 15, 2007 Author Super User Posted January 15, 2007 I hear you Russ.....gotta root for the home team, cant blame you there. I just hate that Brady and Belichick have everybody's # in the playoffs.....and they'll beat the Colts like always. Brady is what 12-1 on the playoffs now? Thats unreal. Peyton didnt look too good yesterday,he threw lots of BAD passes and NE knows how to take him out of the equation. Sad but true. Quote

Guest Texas_Bass_Pro Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Obviously my home team didn't make it past the wild card playoffs (COWBOYS) so I guess I will root for the state next to us.......New Orleans Saints. They are looking pretty good. Reggie Bush has turned out to be a true rookie running back. I just hope Dallas gets rid of T.O. He sure can destroy a team. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted January 15, 2007 BassResource.com Administrator Posted January 15, 2007 Well, whoever ends up in the Superbowl, I'm rooting for the NFC. They need a superbowl win under their belts. Quote

You just like the opertunity to bash me. LOL. Like 5BL said !@#$%^&*&^% PATRIOTS !!! Yeah I hope no one bet off my post. unless the bet on all 4. I ran 50%. Not good. I really wanted the chargers to win too. I'm not a Pats fan but do have to give Brady credit. He has more experience in Playoffs especially with a 12-1 record. I wanted to see LT in the superbowl. he is one of the best in the league. Maybe next year. Just think if that guy at the end wouldnt had fumbled the interception. It would have been a completely different game. > I didnt think that the Seahawks would have put up that much trouble for the bears either. There towards the end I thought the Seahawks were going to win. Cant wait to see what happens this weekend. I'll be couch tatering again. ;D Oh btw Indy and payton better bring their game and win. I wont know what I will do if I see the Pats in the superbowl again. Sheesh. ;D GO COLTS Quote
Super User Matt Fly Posted January 15, 2007 Super User Posted January 15, 2007 I'll be rooting for the New Orleans Saints. I'll take a first timer over any of the other teams. What a story book ending if NO wins it all. Matt Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted January 15, 2007 Super User Posted January 15, 2007 cajun1977, It was nothing specific in this game, I'm not trying to second guess any specific play. Marty's record speaks for itself- he cannot win the big one no matter how much talent he has at his disposal. That was always an advantage for the Broncos. I don't think Marty ever won a game, with Clevland or Kansas City, when he faced John Elway. Back then it was always "someone elses fault." He was (is) a crybaby. Then you have his alleged affair in K.C. with a Chiefs cheerleader and most people thought he was done. He is a man that just "can't get no respect." This was his year and yet, he still couldn't make it happen. I don't have a horse in this race. The playoffs this weekend were outstanding, well...if your team won! I expect next weekend to be spectacular and hope the Super Bowl is good, too. All the soldiers left standing can win, it doesn't appear to me than any one of these teams is dominant. Good luck. I hope YOUR team wins. Quote
nboucher Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Okay, just got my heartbeat back to normal this morning after the Pats win. I thought the Pats were going to get spanked by LT and the rest of the gang the way things were going in the first quarteruntil that brilliant decision to go for it on fourth and eleven. What is this, Pop Warner??? With bonehead coaching like that, I figured the Pats had a chance. On paper the Bolts are the better team, but fortunately games aren't played on paper. Their players seemed to alternate between crisp execution and something like panic. Two untimely personal fouls, dropped passes, a defense that would suddenly go soft for five minues at a time: the Bolts choked. Now let's see how Indy's defense does next week. Quote
Bass XL Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 AHHHHH!!! NO OFFENCE , BUT I HATE THE PATS! Quote
nboucher Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 AHHHHH!!! NO OFFENCE , BUT I HATE THE PATS! None taken! But any football fan has got to admire what they've accomplished these last few years. I go back to the Boston Patriots days, so I've survived many many losing years and one or two humiliating Super Bowl defeats along the way. No offense, but I am loving this team . . . Quote
RiskKid. Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Okay, just got my heartbeat back to normal this morning after the Pats win. Hey Norm.....don't go havin a heart attack....we got some fishin to do together at the Fork....besides the Pats will win again soon....they aren't like that baseball team of yours where it takes 80+ years between championships Quote
fishingrulz Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Brady is just so freakin good. I can't think of anyone as good as him. The only other person I can think of thats as good as him is me. ;D Seriously though. I wanted the Giants to win being a Giant fan and all, but we all know where that ended. I want NO to win it all. No city deserves it more than they do. And I think that the way Katrina brought NO together is gonna be a factor in the NO games. How big of a role will it play? I can't tell you but it just seems like its being overlooked. Quote
Super User Marty Posted January 16, 2007 Super User Posted January 16, 2007 Obviously, Marty hasn't been the best playoff coach, but he has had some bad luck too. He didn't drop any passes, make any head butts, mishandle any punts or have any balls stripped from him. Yes, he made some questionable decisions, but the boneheaded plays on the field were a much bigger factor in the loss. Quote
nboucher Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 Carl, I'm there, my friend. And as for that other team, talk to me in six months. Marty, you're right that the boneheaded plays happened on the field, but I fault the Bolts' coaching staff for not preparing their relatively young team for the playoff pressure and atmosphere. You have to pound it into these guys' heads that all those people will be screaming the whole game and not to get swept up in all that, to stay in control of their emotions and stay focused on their play. I do think the Pats, whether because of coaching or experience or both, were better prepared for the mental side of a playoff game. I thought LT and Rivers handled the atmosphere pretty well, but the rest of the team did not. Quote
