Siebert Outdoors Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 football games. Here is who I would like to see win Saints and Colts I cant wait, its going to be some quality football Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 I am not a big football fan and don't know a whole lot about who is who. I did live in New Orleans for several years and I know a lot of die hard Saints Fans and they have waited a long time. It is as hard to be a Met's fan as a Saints fan. I am rooting for the Siants, which may be the kiss of death for them Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 17, 2007 Super User Posted January 17, 2007 I think both games will be exciting. Saints win unless da Bears fire on all cylinders. If Peyton chokes, again, and the D goes back to "normal," Patriots win big. Brady is a stud, but the Patriots don't compare to the teams they have fielded in recent years. This one could be a nail biter. I'm picking Saints over da Bears, 34-13; Patriots over Colts, 27-24 in overtime. Quote
Super User flechero Posted January 17, 2007 Super User Posted January 17, 2007 I'm picking Saints over da Bears, 34-13; Patriots over Colts, 27-24 in overtime I hope you are wrong... Sorry Muddy and Alpster, I have roots in Chicago. Quote
basspro05 Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 I am going to say the bears win at home, and the Colts win at home. It's the playoffs anything can happen though Quote
Super User Alpster Posted January 17, 2007 Super User Posted January 17, 2007 All my life, The Saints have managed to disappoint me, but I I have always had confidence they they will come through. I am rooting for them none the less, it's their turn to get a shot. Ronnie Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 Hey Ronnie I am right there with you. I lived on Carondalet and Washington ,at the fringe of the Garden District Every Sunday we would put a TV in the court yard, under this huge Magnoila tree and all watch the game. Those guys were rabid and it was in the days of 3 win seasons. They stuck to those Saints like me and my friends did back home with the Mets Hope they do it for all of you this year! PS spent the day Listening to Snooks Eaglin,Dr.John and Gatemouth Brown Missing the Quarter buddy Quote
Deuceu72 Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 Saints over Bears, 28-10 Indy over New England, 35-10 Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted January 17, 2007 Super User Posted January 17, 2007 Saints and Pats Quote
Nick B Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 As a Colts fan I am going to have to pick them, Hopefully they get that monkey off their back. As for the NFC, the Bears have faultered as of late, so unless they have stellar game Id have to say the Saints. Quote
Troutfisher Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 Bears win in a TIGHT game, 24-21, and the Colts win big, 35-17. Quote
Valascus Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 I've got the Saints for a few reasons. The Bears D hasn't been quite as stifling as it has been earlier in the season. I mean, Seattle was able to make it a game for a while. The Saints have a TON of offensive weapons and Brees put up an MVP caliber year. I'm not saying the Bears don't have a shot, but if the defense is a little loose like it was against the Seahawks and towards the end of the regular season, and the not so good Grossman shows up...they are gonna get HAMMERED. Saints over Bears...28-21. Now for the tougher one. Man...Belicheck (spelling?) and Brady are monsters. Still can't believe they dispatched the Chargers and LT. But...The Colts D has suddenly decided to show up and the Colts have already beaten the Pats this year WITHOUT the good defense. The Colts also got their last win DESPITE Payton having an off game. If Peyton has an ON game, and the Colts D hold like it has been, then I could see the Colts scratchin' this one out. Not to mention Dungy gave his boys an extra day off. That may help his guys be a little more "fresh" than their opposition. Colts over Pats...barely...24-21 with Viniteri (spelling again?) nailing the winning FG against his old mates. Quote
RiskKid. Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 I'm hoping for the Colts and Saints. I think its an even bet who will win. Quote
nboucher Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 I'd be surprised if either game is a blowout. Unfortunately, after last Sunday's SD-NE game, I don't have any nails left to bite. I think it's the end of the road for the Bears, unless their defense really stiffens up against the run. The Pats will win if (1) their defense can get some pressure on Manning to get him moving around and (2) they can successfully run more than they did against San Diego, thus softening the Indy defense enough to allow Brady to throw lots of short, precise passes and have a look downfield for those big-yardage opportunities. The Colts will win if (1) their defense can get some pressure on Brady to get him to rush his passes and (2) their running game is really on, thus softening the NE defense enough to allow Manning to throw lots of short, precise passes and have a look downfield for those big-yardage opportunities. (In other words, these teams are so alike they'll be trying to do the same things. ) I'll be watching the Pats' offensive line early; if they can block Indy the way they did SD, the Pats should be okay. The Colts will not fall apart the way the Bolts did. Quote
NATHAN_JAMES Posted January 17, 2007 Posted January 17, 2007 I say its gonna be the Pats and the Saints going to the big show. Quote
Super User Catt Posted January 18, 2007 Super User Posted January 18, 2007 Payton Manning will finally beat the Patriots but the Saints will steal his thunder in the super bowl. Grossman can't take defensive pressure and the saints have plenty Quote
