What does this mean for me?    Well, as of now, the intent of the hospital is to  be closed March 9th, could be sooner if people bail out and vendors don't ship supplies.

There are no quick fixes, and I'm blessed as to have already located a job in San Angelo Tx, the very same hospital my first Grandson was born in on July 11, 2006.    My daughter and family has since located to Terrell, she is to start college here in a few days.

At this point and time, I may not be in the area for the 2nd annual Fork trip.    I will do every thing in my power to get that time off, but as of now, the new job and moving some 250 miles west may prevent this from happeining.

My Thursday Brisket may be on hold at this time until I get some details worked out.    250 miles in the wrong direction, the further west you go in TEXAS, the less it rains and the less waters to fish.

I will be closer to OH Ivey and Amistad, but won't be in my backyard like Fork is.

Matt, it's brutal getting the rug pulled out from under you like that. You're strong and sane to put all else aside and get back up off the floor and working again. Best of luck to you and your family.

Matt,

Like the others have said, take care of your family. We will be praying for you & yours. I've seen some of these guys, and believe me, they can stand to miss a meal.  ;) As much as I would love to try your brisket, I would much rather see YOU still make it to Fork. I was born in San Angelo and still have a lot of family there.

God bless

Ronnie

Sorry to hear that Matt.  It always sucks to move away from family ........ and a lake like Fork.  Good luck with the move.

Sorry to hear about that Matt.  That's really hard on you and your family.  But at least you and your family are adaptable enough and capable of finding new jobs elsewhere.  Many families don't have that option.

Now that just suks.

Of course I'll keep all of you in my thoughts, if there is anyhting we can do to help out, just holler.  I know you said you already have work lined up but if the honey doesn't or it's not what you thought, there is always UPS to at least hold you over till you find somthing.  Part-time jobs there also come with full bennies for you AND YOUR FAMILY.  Let me know if I can help.

Hang tough dude, brisket is irrelevant right about now, take care of you and yours first.

Good luck, keep us posted.

Ronnie,

Its a small world.     My dad was a coach/Principal at Miles Texas outside of San Angelo, so it isn't like I've never fihed the Concho or Colorado river.      Staying in the DFW area depends on me wanting to drive into the city and drive 50-75 miles round trip, and after retiring from the Navy and 15 years of that being in San Diego, I sure don't like the traffic.

Muddy and others, I appreciate the kind offers.       I may be moving, but I'm not leaving the "fishing family".

Thanks

Matt

Matt, my thoughts are with you while you go through this transition.  I know this isn't an easy time for you and your family but you handled the situation by preparing for it and finding another position before your old position was eliminated.  As Glenn stated, some families don't have that option.  And some don't take the initiative to maintain employment until after a job is lost.  I commend you for taking care of your family by being prepared.  Good luck.

Your attitude will go a long way in making the change a more positive experience. Life is unpredictable, but God is good. I wish you and yours all the best.

My prayers go with you. Thats a tough one. I am sure you will survive. Like the old saying goes " one door closes and another one opens. I am in the health field as well and one good thing about what we do, we will always have a job. Good luck, its just a bump in the road my friend.
