fishbear Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Take a fresh caught salmon or steelhead (still has the sea lice on it), split it open, put it on a hot grill, baste it with melted garlic butter and pureed onions. Man, now I have to go cook,, darn it, ;D Quote
Panamoka_Bassin Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Ruth's Chris steakhouse. Their filet mignon rocks! I've had the steaks there, but I can't say I was all that impressed (thought I didn't have the filet). I'd much rather Peter Lugers As for favorite foods: Mom's Lasagna (She's pretty good for a non-Italian) Leg of Lamb (loaded with garlic and pepper. So easy and yet sooooo good) Pot Roast (always better the second day) Chicken Alaska (They make this at the restaurant where I bartend; don't know exactly what's in it except a great cream sauce and cheese over chicken breat and linguini) Grilled Swordfish (I only eat it once a year since its so scarce, but MMMMMMMMM) Reuben from Carnegie Deli (THE reuben to which all others must live up to) Now I'm hungry.... After that I would have to say the same thing, but instead of chicken, id go with a chicken fried steak. Then a fried egg sandwich w/ bacon on wheat toast. and last but not least, mom's beef tenderloin w/ a baked tater and brocolli. Quote

Super User roadwarrior Posted December 27, 2006 Super User Posted December 27, 2006 GMAN, For a taste of Italy you need to drive up to The Hill and make a visit to Zia's. Even the_muddy_man would feel at home in that restaurant. Quote
Captain Cali Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Just about everything my grandmother makes. I'm also a sucker for a GOOD pastrami sandwich. And of course you can't go wrong with a good steak, medium/rare - medium of course. Quote
BASS fisherman Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 For me an easier question would be what foods do I not like. If it is edible, I'll eat it. Except for anything that comes out of water. I don't eat seafood of any kind, including fish. Unless the fish is deep fried and batter dipped. And for those of you who want to quote me and say I don't know what I am missing by not eating seafood, don't bother. I do know what I am missing, and I am not interested. Thank you but no. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted December 28, 2006 Super User Posted December 28, 2006 I love lots of different foods but if there's one thing I just can't say no to or stop at just one it's a good old fashioned BLT sandwich. I love those things. Quote
