What is bigger in Texas?

Ya know, that's the vibe I get just from knowing a bunch of Texans from the forum.  I don't follow football but the feeling I got was that the lower levels are where the passion is as far as Texas goes.  That's why I asked, just curious if I was reading that right.

The only places that come close in high school football are California and Florida 8-)

i would say (in Texas) that high school and college are more celebrated than cowboy football. Theres just something about Texas college ball that doesnt come close to anything else.

I'd say college ball is bigger in Texas but I'm not so certain that Florida is almost as equally in vibe with the sport.  One of the Florida fishing forums I visit has almost as many college football posts in the fall as they do fishing posts.

I'm doing my best to instill Baltimore Ravens, and WVU Mountaineers football, but its not catching on very well.  ;D

The correct answer is Longhorn football, then HS, then the 'boys.  

There are probably 8-10 HS programs that average more attendance per game than Rice University.

THere are only two seasons in Texas:

Fall Football

and spring practice.  8-)
