basspro05 Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 Is Mike Iaconelli's CD set of how to become a pro in five years or less worth purchasing? Does it have good information. I know I should just buy it and give it a shot, but 20 bucks is 20 bucks lol. Anyone who has tried it let me know if the info is good. thanks Quote
edbassmaster Posted December 14, 2006 Posted December 14, 2006 First, grasshopper, you must learn to breakdance...than I will teach you the great ways of Master Ike. Quote
Super User Sam Posted December 18, 2006 Super User Posted December 18, 2006 Yes, anything Ike publishes is excellent and very helpful. Read his book, Fishing on the Edge, to start, then graduate up to his CDs, etc. Check out his website, too. Good luck. We want to see your picture in the future issues of Bass Times! Quote
bassdocktor Posted December 18, 2006 Posted December 18, 2006 I bought the CD awhile back. He does give some intersting insight to how and why he does things. If nothing else you will learn how he approaches everything. Quote
Super User Sam Posted December 21, 2006 Super User Posted December 21, 2006 Bassdoc, He has a new DVD out in the Bassmasters Masters series that is super. Check it out at your local fishing store. Quote
Super User Sam Posted December 21, 2006 Super User Posted December 21, 2006 Here is my opriginal post about drop shotting which mentions Ike's newest DVD: Take some of your hard earned money and invest in the DVD Classic Paterns Master Series' Mike Iaconelli Tactics for Tough Conditions. Not only will Ike give you some wonderful pointers on how to fish the drop shot, but he also includes other fishing methods such as the shaky worm, split shot, stick baits, and other great "secrets" that you can use to your advantage. Ike's info on the drop shot rig was more informative than Rich Tauber's Bassmaster University presentation. Rich made the presentation right after he learned the drop shot method from the Japenese bass pros at a California tournament and Rich was telling us how it worked and how great the set-up can be. So do yourself a favor for Christmas and get the DVD. But please don't tell anyone else on the forum about it as it will help everyone make the Classic!!!! Quote
Water Dog Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Ike is a bonified character to say the least. I read his book and I think that one of his points is that you have to be really driven to be a PRO. I wonder if in the end he will believe that it is worth it. Maybe for him, not for me. As thorough as he is, I'll bet that his new DVD is good. He doesn't put any of that crappy music in it does he? ;D Quote
bassdocktor Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Sam I haven't checked this thread for awhile so I missed your post. I'll have to check that one out. I think I caught the end of it if it was on TV one time. Thanks, bassdocktor Quote
