bassmasta7 Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 With Allen Iverson now getting traded, I think we should all reflect on his famous "We talkin bout practice" speech. It just shows how lazy and arrogant some athletes are. But, I cant help but laugh every time I watch it. I wish the Denver Nuggets the best of luck. Quote
Bass XL Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 Oh my gosh man thats funny, i remember when that happened....its been on tv a few time..... "naw naw naw, man we talkin' bout practice. Practice! Practice? Quote

fishingrulz Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 Al couldn't be at PRACTICE...After all, practice is silly. It makes your players a team. It gives you TEAM CHEMISTRY! Thats just silly. To silly for a player like him. Now beating your wife? thats what i'm talkin' about!...What a fool. It shows what money will do to you. I'm rich so that gives me the right to disrespect everyone on my team, in the organization, in the NBA, in the media. What a freakin fool. Quote
RiskKid. Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 Given Mr Iverson's talents and good fortune to be where he is, it is JMHO that he should "PRACTICE" being a better role model for the youth that look up to him! Quote
Daniel My Brother Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 God help any child who looks to the NBA for role models. That said, I love watching Iverson play. He always looks to be a step quicker than any other player on the floor. Speaking of practice, lots of veteran players sit out practice. The NBA regular season is brutal and Iverson plays 42 minutes a night...Wait, I can't believe I'm defending AI! Somebody stop me...I...can't...help...myself! Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted December 21, 2006 Posted December 21, 2006 What a let down,....I THOUGHT he was gonna talk about practice man. Ya know,......Practice. Counter was on that video, 15.5 The point 5 sent me over the edge. Quote
Crabcakes Posted December 22, 2006 Posted December 22, 2006 The best part is when he goes "How the hell can I make my teammates better by practicing?" To be somewhat fair to him he does always give 110% on the court for 82 games with a ridiculously high number of minutes and has been historically surrounded by a cast of reject players that do almost nothing to help him. He got most of the flack for his rant about practice and his flippant attitude, not actually missing the practice. He of course still has a responsiblity to attend practice because he is paid to do so and he owes it to his fans and teammates. Quote
Water Dog Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Players like him is why I don't watch any professional sport very much any more. They burned me out. Gives me more time to do something else. Life is short, why waste it watching a bunch of idiots. I used to know all the stats on football and baseball, all the personal stuff. They're a bunch of millionaire thug bums, who cares what they do. Some of the ones that I did like are on ESPN now and they are plastic people. I can't stand to listen to their hype. That is awfully harsh at Christmas isn't it. ;D Gentlemen they are not worthy of our time. Let's go fishing! Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted December 24, 2006 Super User Posted December 24, 2006 haha, the NBA. The commish thinks you can throw a suit on a pot smoking thug, and suddenly he becomes an upstanding member of society. GET A CLUE!!! Dont get me wrong, there are some genuinely good guys in the NBA. I am just unable to name any at this particular time.... Quote
fishbear Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Speed, I can name two, both are rookies... Adam Morrison and Brandon Roy.. both are upstanding citizens. As for being role models,, ever since Barkley made his little rant about role models,,seems the whole sporting world took his words for Gospel.. Look at what happened between Denver and NY..... they are all overpaid, whiny punks, in my opinion. with a few good apples thrown in to be spoiled by the rest. Quote
