[move]CAN I GET A HOO-AH??[/move]

For the soldiers overseas, such a tough time of year to be away from their families and friends. Hoping they find comfort in each other and as always, wishing them a safe and speedy return home.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO THE TROOPS

I'll add my Hoo-Ah!!!    And, not to promote a particular magazine over another, but Primedia, the owner of InFisherman, has a program whereby you can send a service member a gift subscription for just $10 per year.  The gifts are made anonymously, so the service member won't know that you're the one sending it, but they'll still get the magazine just the same.  I thought it was a nice thing to do at Christmas, so I placed my order today.

Been there done that, I know what it's like being away from your family and friends this time of year.  IT SUCKS!

HUA! to you men and women overseas fighting for our freedom and keeping my family safe tonight.

Keep your eyes open, heads down and we'll see you on the water soon!

17. If you are an insurgent,...this would be a good time to duck.  18.  Hell yea I miss my FAMILY  18.  I got your back  19. see eighteen (18) 20.  I'm on it  21. We could keep going to 1000 but the word embodies the drive within an American, somthing words often come close too but always fall shy of depicting.

It's kinda like loyalty to family, the willingness to die for your brother soldier but a huge dose of fairness, compassion and equality when the cards are on the table.

See?  All those words and still not even close.

Check this out HOO-AH.  used in this context to mean THANK YOU

When I hug my family this weekend, I will remember that there are guys my age from the next town over who can't do the same.  Recognized.  Appreciated.

Sidenote- I have heard of many areas of the deployed military where they can access the net but cannot respond to anything.  Like internet with "incoming" only.  understandable, you don't know who is reeading or you could give valued info and not even realize it in cassual conversation.  If this is true and you guys are over there reading, no worries, we feel your spirit.  Feel our support.  Spread the word to other soldiers that some simple old bass fishing forum board is keeping your plight actively in the spotlight so we don't forget.  We comment on you all the time, if ever you can reply or when you get back, we'd love to meet you.  I know if I were deployed tomorrow, A site like this would certainly help me to stay strong. Knowing that the average joe from backwoods USA is aware and awaiting your return.  Never forgotten, return soon.

Merry Christmas, and still,...not enough words

Origin----- The modern hooah, primarily associated with but not restricted to the infantry, originated with the Second Dragoons in Florida as "hough" in 1841. In an attempt to end the war with the Seminoles, a meeting was arranged with the Indian Chief Coacoochee. After the meeting, there was a banquet. Officers of the garrison made a variety of toasts, including "here's to luck!" and "the old grudge" before drinking. Coacoochee asked Gopher John, an interpreter, the meaning of what they said. Gopher John responded, "It means, How d'ye do," whereupon the Chief, with great dignity, lifted his cup above his head and exclaimed in a deep, guttural and triumphant voice, "HOUGH!"

And so the expression was born. It has since achieved high popularity - having lasted for more than 150 years, through the American Civil War, two world wars, the Korean conflict, the Vietnam war, Operation Just Cause in Panama and the Persian Gulf war.

And the expression continually grows in popularity. Once heard mainly from infantry soldiers, hooah has spread throughout the rest of the Army. Soldiers will continue to acknowledge a mission to be accomplished, a job well done, victory at a sporting event or any occasion imaginable with "HOOAH!"

Merry Christmas to all of our fighting men and women especially those overseas who won't be with their families!!!!! We are looking forward to you completing your mission and coming home. We appreciate all that you do to keep the enemy over there instead of over here. The American people love their military men and women and their families.

Hoo-Ah !!! was a term the Marines claimed when I was in but I like the sentiment and since everyone is using it now.

HOO - AAAAAAhhhhhhhhhhhh !!!!!!
