fishingrulz Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Corvette, C5 Z06. I never loved another car more than this one. 405 horses. With so much more potential. These cars are simply the fastest cars for their price. I can't stand the imports. Nothing kills me more than Rice! ahhh I hate it. I throw up a little whenever I see it. I love my Domestics, always have, always will. Nothing better than a throaty V8 roaring past you. I'm 14, this isn't going to be easy, but I will get this car. I also love Mustangs. My favorite being the 2000 SVT Cobra R. Shes a beaut! I don't think I can express my love for any corvette over a computer. I'm die hard for these things. This might sound ridiculous but whenever I see one on the road I just stop and stare in awe. I stop everything and everything and just go..."ohhhh man....." I get all giddy. Its amazing i've never had this happen with anything else. Another thing I don't go for are the Lambos and what not, Ferrari's you know what i'm talking about. There are so many people out there that say they "love" Ferraris and all they know is they are exspensive so they must be good right?...wrong! Lets see some Domestics! Vettes,Camaros, Mustangs, Novas, Chargers, Challengers, Satellites, Trans Ams, GTOs, Firebirds, Cougars, etc etc. Lets see them. Wether you used to have them or have them now! Quote
Rose_Jackets67 Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 First, my car - It's a '67 Impala that I got when I was 15 and restored/built up through high school to be a nasty daily driver. Currently runs high 12's at 110-112mph on street tires with a built 396, built automatic, and 3.73 gears with an Eaton limited slip. Eventually, I'd like to run high 11's at around 120, but the money just isn't there right now. Runs strong as is, and I like that it still looks, and to some extent sounds, pretty mild. http://photos-804.facebook.com/ip002/v45/245/17/12802464/n12802464_31280804_6979.jpg The Cobra - This is the car that went away so that I could buy my current daily driver Dodge truck, but I'll miss it. All the bolt-on parts (intake setup, shorty headers, X pipe, cat back, tuning, Spec Stage 3 clutch, 4.10 gears), but nothing too extreme. Never went down the track, but was always just a little bit slower than the Impala, and a little bit faster than stock (non-Z06) C5 Corvettes. I'd guess it at a 12.99 at 110mph or in that area. http://photos-805.facebook.com/ip002/v45/245/17/12802464/n12802464_31280805_1553.jpg Like I said, the Cobra is gone now, and the Impala is currently sitting at my fathers place in Virginia til I finish college. Fishin49er Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 You got good taste. I think I saw on another thread where your SN was C5lingenfelter, man those are sweet cars. Twin turbo putting out somewhere close to 800 HP. Awesome. And that Cobra is the SVT Cobra R, i think they top out at 186. Insane. Another car, I have a Motor Trend magazine with a twin turbo Viper in it, with 1100 HP!! Freakin Insane Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted November 30, 2006 Super User Posted November 30, 2006 Black 2007 C6 Z06. They give me a....make me happy! Quote
Fishin49er Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 One more Wait till about 37 seconds when the turbos spool up. That makes me giddy. Quote
fishingrulz Posted November 30, 2006 Author Posted November 30, 2006 Heres the problem with the Viper, and even the C6 Z06, $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$lol. Viper is in the 80s and the 07 C6 Z06 Vette is 73. Don't get me wrong I don't care what kind of vette it is, anyone makes me tingly inside, C5 just happens to be my favorite. I love em all! The new Vipers are eh. I like the TNT Vipers, the ones from the 90s. I'm not a Viper guy, to pricy, Vettes are just so much better IMO. Fishin49, Yes, There is a performance package, you give them 40 grand and they will take the Ls1 engine and ram 725 horses in it. I would go for the 550 TT package. Your still in the whole 20 grand. Don't worry, if I even get to test drive a Vette i'll die happy. Rose...That Impala is a freakin beauty. Sad to see the Stang go. I would have kept the Impala as well. That thing has some big big potential. CORRECTION-My dad used to have a 73 Cutlass Supreme. He tells me that thing would book... My friends dad(George Scocca, he owns the magizene Noreast Saltwater see www.noreast.com) grew up in Smithtown. They had a mini dukes of hazards going! He had a Chevelle, a 69 SS Camaro that he got mint with a "blown motor" Listen to this....he pays 1 grand for the thing, takes it home. His buddy, a great mechanic looks under the hood comes out and is like...theres nothing wrong with it! it needs new headers. He fixes it for free and the thing ran like new. He raced a GTO in his friends dads loaded Chevelle, He gets the "boss" of the town on him...keep in mind, this was a small town back then. This guy drives a Mustang...Boss loaded! He gives him a PBA card. From then on whenever he got pulled over he flashed that thing and got off. Unbeliveable. Today there is one car still surviving...a Shelby GT-500KR Mustang...worth 500k.... All beautys...keep em comin! Love it so far. Quote
Panamoka_Bassin Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Well, when I was your age (*ahem*), I was all hopped up for a nice little Jaguar XJ12 or the XKE http://www.jaguar-e-type.net/ . Then, as a graduation gift, I got a "put-me-back-together" '66 Mustang Coupe, and I'm pretty well still hooked on the ponies. I have to say I really like the Stage 3 Rouch upgrade to the new Mustangs, very similar atmosphere to the old Shelby Mustang. Now that I'm thinking of it, I guess I'll make a list of my "wish" cars: 1: '67 Cherry Red Mustang convertable (I'll take the fast-back if I have to, though)http://www.mustangreview.com/1966gtvert.htm 2: '05 Lotus Elise (I got passed by one on the highway and just fell in love with that car)http://www.puresportscar.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=999 3: 427 Shelby Cobra (No brainer)http://www.conceptcarz.com/view/photo/1913,826,0,0/photo.aspx 4: '69 Buick Electra 225 convertable (Just a big 'ole pimp mobile)http://www.chooseyouritem.com/classics/files/97500/97960.html 5: '63 Aston Martin dB5 (C'mon, who doesn't want James Bond's car?)http://www.donrose.com/DB5.html Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 I'll take one of these. Class with a capital "C" and more horsies than you'll ever need. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted November 30, 2006 Super User Posted November 30, 2006 I'm a Ford guy through and through and here's my list. A new Ford GT. New Shelby Mustang '67 GT350 BMW M4 E type Jag and finally, I like to find one of these that I used to own in my youth. 1969 Mach 1 Mustang. Mine looked identical to this one. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Ahhh, Eleanor! My bro is in the middle of restoring a 65 hardtop with the 289 HP motor. Navy w/ white leather, very nice, almost done. Quote
MyKeyBe Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 Well, when I was your age (*ahem*)... 1: '67 Cherry Red Mustang convertable (I'll take the fast-back if I have to, though) You can keep the Mustang. Everyone and their Mother has one. I'll take a Cougar instead. Eliminator if you please! 2: I'll skip 2. Yeah, It may be cool and nice but it ain't me! 3: 427 Shelby Cobra (No brainer) Yep, no brainer. It is at the top of my list. The one car I would give my left... for! 4: '69 Buick Electra 225 convertable (Just a big 'ole pimp mobile) Big ole pimp mobile? Yep. Ever try to buy parts for one? They ain't cheap and they are few and far between. Call Mondello and ask for a cam. You'll slap a SBC under the hood in less than a minute! Me? I'll take a Lincoln with Air Ride and dubs any day. 5: '63 Aston Martin dB5 (C'mon, who doesn't want James Bond's car?) I, for one, do not want James Bond's car. Call me a Puss-aye (Yeah! I finally got around Glenn's censors! : )Galore if you want. :'( I would take a James Dean Spyder over a James Bond Aston anyday and if we are going back to the 60's give me a GT-40! 6: The one I can afford and already own. A used 1993 Jeep Cherokee. It will get me darn near anywhere and take the whole family along. We can go fishing, camping, off roading, through the river, and over the woods, to grandmother's house.... darn near anywhere! Yep! My used XJ that I paid $2,000.00 for is my dream car. Quote
Super User Catt Posted November 30, 2006 Super User Posted November 30, 2006 This was my car it's a 69 Hurst Olds Cutlass it came stock with a 350 cubic inch 350 hp and a 4 speed on the floor. I bored it .060 over, 12.5 to 1 compression TRW pistons, full stroke Iskenderian cam, Elderbrock tarantula high rise manifold, Holley (2 ea.) 1180, Hooker Headers, Borg Warner T10 4/speedd transmission, Hurst Mystery sifter with lock out reverse, Borg/Beck clutch & pressure plate, and a 3.90 ratio rear end. The car was classified as a B/Modified Production on the strip at 10.19 @ 132.40 mph, totally street legal and I drove to work daily. Quote

Keithscatch Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 I am shocked that no one has mentioned the Ford GT. In my opinion domestic sports cars start and end with this. Just look at this thing. WOW, yeah I want one of these: If I can't have this then I will settle for this: 500HP of SHELBY muscle. Quote
paparock Posted November 30, 2006 Posted November 30, 2006 I'm more of an ATV type of guy. She's not much on fuel economy but she goes most anywhere, swims rivers, not to mention you can make your own parking space. Quote
