justfishin Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 I recently updated my browser from IE 6 to IE 7 and had some conflicts and problems. After researching some sites like www.pcmagazine.com and www.cnet.com I came to the conclusion to download Mozilla Firefox as my new browser and I really like it a lot. I love the tabs for my browsing.Have any of you done the same? Also, I use Yahoo email and have not had any problems but, thought about changing over to Thunderbird. Any tips or suggestions on this email program? Quote
Hale Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 I love the tabs for my browsing Im sure it wont change your opinion, but this is a new feature in IE7 as well. Quote
justfishin Posted December 9, 2006 Author Posted December 9, 2006 Yea, I know. When IE 7 and Firefox added tabs---as Martha Steward says ---Its a good thing---,lol. I didn't have any major issues with IE 7. I just read that the security is somewhat better with Firefox but.... they all jump on the bandwagon to beat up on microsoft. Its just too easy with all the security problems they have had over the years, lol. Quote
fishbear Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 Been using Firefox and Thunderbird for over a year now.... they beat IE and Outlook hands down, no problem. Quote
Lightninrod Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 I use both IE 7 and Firefox(but not their email) on my home PC . I find advantages to both. Dan Quote
Hale Posted December 9, 2006 Posted December 9, 2006 I agree with the security issues of IE7, even though I still use it. Ive gotten use to shortcuts in IE that drive me crazy for being absent in other browsers (i.e. Ctrl+enter to add www. .com to any name in address bar) Quote
Super User Marty Posted December 10, 2006 Super User Posted December 10, 2006 I've been using Firefox for two years, ever since the computer got infested with spyware and I had to pay a guy to clean it up. Quote
nboucher Posted December 10, 2006 Posted December 10, 2006 I use Firefox and its cousin, Camino, mostly Camino, which I love. I'm on a Mac, though. Quote
