Guest the_muddy_man Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Why is it when someone is asking about a specfic rod, reel and lure do people have to start talking about other brands. Someone asks about favorite Rapalas for bass fishing next thing you know theres a discussion on using another bait for redfish!!!!!!!!! When people want specfic input on certain products it probablly ould be best for those with experience help that guy out. This gets a little frustrating soimetime Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted November 27, 2006 Super User Posted November 27, 2006 I guess you could blame it on human nature. But I feel the same way sometimes. Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted November 27, 2006 Super User Posted November 27, 2006 Speaking of that-did you watch any of the Colts game tonight? ;D Quote
Guest avid Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Did you ever meet someone who just HAD to talk even though he had nothing to say? Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Meet? I dated her for 3 years! ;D Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted November 27, 2006 Super User Posted November 27, 2006 I agree with you muddy. When you ask for one thing and get another , you might as well not have asked at all. Quote
Super User senile1 Posted November 27, 2006 Super User Posted November 27, 2006 Yes, this can be bothersome. I think we're all guilty of doing something like this at one time or another. I've been guilty of posting a joking reply to someone's post that doesn't answer their question. Quote

BASS fisherman Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 When I was heavily involved in the Yahoo Answers forum, people did that all the time. From reading those other responses, I made sure to never do that, or if needed, as little as possible. I have been irratated on this forum to the point where I almost went back and quoted the culprits, and then thought about asking if anyone could actually ANSWER the question. I decided not to though. LBH, she must of been smokin to be with a ditz for 3 years. Atleast I call someone who talks with nothing good to say a ditz. No offense. Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Hey Im the first to admit me and my bouncies put mucho funny answer2 Quote
RiskKid. Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 It can be frustrating but sometimes the odd out answers have some good info too. May not help the person who asked but others can find the info helpful. As for these keep em coming Muddy....humor is always fun and hopefully folks are not so thin skinned that they fail to recognize it as such. Quote
nboucher Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Hey, Muddy, my pet peeve is your not responding to suggestive threads. I keep looking for you to pick up on "Bass-Mounting" over in General Bass Fishing. That one's got your name all over it, man. Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Jeez Norm my computer was down for a few days I hit that thread bfore check it out Quote
nboucher Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Ah, you got to it before I got to you, thereby renewing my faith in the Muddy Man. I was bummin. (Also, I see LBH beat to you to it.) Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Yea looks like Russ had some time between his last girlfriend and his currnet one Quote
Guest avid Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 I think the humorous replies are important. I undestand that the newbies want, and deserve serious answers to their questions. It is why they came to BassResource.com and it would be rude and not in keeping with the spirit of our community not to treat the simplest question and the member who asked it with respect. That being said there are those of use who have been around awhile and have seen the basic questions asked dozens of times. It gets old. Speaking for myself, sometimes I'll make a joke, sometimes I'll be serious. I usually check out the age of the poster and how long they have been around. I don't think it's a good idea to joke too much with kids, or folks are brand new to the forum. They don't know our culture and I would hate to turn someone off before he got to know just how great this place is. Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 Hey Avid dont use my name and culture in the same sentence ;D Quote
