NEBassMan Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 How many of you guys grow your beard out for the winter season? I usually wear a goatee year round, but decided to grow a full beard for the winter. It's the first time i've done it, and i have to say, working outside most of the day, it sure helps keep my face warm. Jason Quote
Troutfisher Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 The bass player in our bluegrass group is for deer season. Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 I do the chin thing GOATEE for the season!!!! 8-) Quote
tipptruck1 Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 I don't think it keeps your face warm. I don't shave all summer. Then when winter comes I shave it off. Quote

Panamoka_Bassin Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 Everyone thinks I'm weird for this, but all the die-hard Yankees fans will appreciate it... I start growing my Van Gogh the day the Yankees are done for the season. I shave it off when pitchers and catchers report for spring training. Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 I was going to but I don't know how long it would take to get those 11 hairs long enough be able to twist them up into a beard, lol. Quote

Cigarlover 1 Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 I have a goatee or short beard in the summer and grow it out for the winter. It's nice to have when it's cold out and the wind kicks up. Quote
Super User senile1 Posted November 13, 2006 Super User Posted November 13, 2006 Since 1984, I have grown a beard every winter except for two. For a long time I wore a goatee, but the last three years I have gone "nude" in the warmer months. Quote from tipptruck1: I don't think it keeps your face warm. Tipptruck, starting in November, grow a beard and then shave it off in mid-January when the temperatures are very cold. You will notice a big difference. A beard definitely helps if you like the outdoors in the winter. Quote
NJfishinGuy Posted November 13, 2006 Posted November 13, 2006 i keep thinking about it but my gf doesnt like beards. but d**n it really does help in the cold windy weather. even when i just got my goat goin and i shave it off regardless of season my chin feels so cold and breezy Quote
Super User Raul Posted November 13, 2006 Super User Posted November 13, 2006 Anybody grow a beard for the winter season? Now I get it, I always wondered how come there were more reported sightings of Big Foot during the winter. Quote

alhuff Posted November 14, 2006 Posted November 14, 2006 I started growing a full beard (minus the neck) about a month ago, it has grown in very nice so far. I'll keep it as long as the little woman doesn't shave it off while I sleep. She hates it!!!!!! Alfred Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 I can't even gro a shadow. Literally. You guys thought I was exageratting, I have maybe 20-40 actual hairs on my face. I shave the corners of my top lip and my chin. That's it, and even then, it's maybe 2-3 times a week. So go ahead, throw in all the jabs,.....let's hear them,....I'll be sure to read them when I wake up but that will be 10 minutes later than everone else who has to shave. PS- I have 1 (one) hair that grows dead center on my chest. I don't know what he's thinkin', but then again.....................grass don't grow on a playground Quote
Valascus Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 I couldn't grow one to save my life. I get this weird blochy homeless lookin' dude look going on. I just keep my face clean shaven prety much all the time. I shave about every other day...the little women likes it like that. Quote
Super User Alpster Posted November 16, 2006 Super User Posted November 16, 2006 I have 1 (one) hair that grows dead center on my chest. I don't know what he's thinkin', but then again.....................grass don't grow on a playground Don't sweat that, my man. I have enough hair on my chest and back to stuff a sofa. LOL It's more trouble than it's worth. I am considering a transplant to the top of my head. Now you talk about cueball, I gots me one of them. Ronnie Quote
