rap-a-la ;)

From the Rapala website FAQs:

How do you pronounce Rapala?

The assumption is Ra-pa-la. The correct pronunciation is Rap-a-la.

So which it is Rap-a-la....oh well ;D

back home in Brooklyn they were simply known as DEM LITTLE WOODEN FISHIES ;D :o ::)

rap is a form of  urban music.

Why Lauri Rapala chose to pronounce his name the same way is anybody's guess

In spite of what Lauri and the folks at Rap-a-la say, their lures will always be Re-pel-as to me. ;)

Try this:

RAP-uh-luh is the correct pronunciation.

ruh-PAH-luh is the way I've pronounced it for 37 years and I've having a hard time kicking the habit. The correct pronunciation just sounds wrong to me, even though it's right, if that makes any sense.
