Joel W Posted April 18, 2008 Posted April 18, 2008 Love Flukes. Looks like the bait monkey has gotten me again. Quote

Super User iceintheveins Posted April 18, 2008 Super User Posted April 18, 2008 Wow that's awesome. I'm going to get some for big pike. Quote
Fishing Doug Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 I got mine three months ago. Where have ya'll been. Ok, Fluke. Assuming you have had a chance to fish them: 1. what size hook? 2. have you tried them with a weighted hook? 3. how heavy are these compared to the super fluke? (basically, can I throw them with my MH 7ft rod I throw super flukes with?) FD Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted April 19, 2008 Super User Posted April 19, 2008 I alway tend to use a smaller hook then most people so I use a 5/0. Yes they are pretty heavy compaired to the Super Fluke but I still fish them weightless. There is no reason why you shouldn't have a problem fishing them with a MH rod. Quote

Super User Bassin_Fin@tic Posted April 19, 2008 Super User Posted April 19, 2008 ....And the smell of bannanas is wafting through the air : God I cant wait until I get a hold of some of these! I have been saying for a while they need a bigger one. Cant wait to toss it on a c rig! Quote
BassFishingMachine Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 Man thats going to be a great bait for monster pickerel around here! Quote
Joel W Posted April 19, 2008 Posted April 19, 2008 If I'm noise hooking the Super Fluke, I really like to use a 1/0 EWG hook. If I'm Tx rigging it I use a 3/0 EWG hook. Never really thought about going with a EWG 5/0 Flippin' hook, but now that you brought it up, it does have a big advantage of adding just a tad more weight since I fish it weedless. Thanks for the tip. Quote

Thanks for the tip. Gammie even makes a 6/0 EWG offset "Superline" worm hook. We use it in 5" flukes and 6" flappin shads, and I'm sure it will work just fine in these new 7" models. Quote
