Bassassasin12 Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 Colts fan here. Mark my words as I am watching the game right now. Manning will have to score at least 30 points a game in order to have a legitimate shot at winning every game. I just dont understand how our d couldn't get fired up and say lets go stop em one time for peyton? I mean Peyton Manning is hands down the best Quarterback in the league and in no way is that a bias statement. You look at all the other contending QB's in the league and they all have good defenses to help them out. The Manning and Harrison connection could go down as legendary, but we will never know because I frankly don't think the Colts are a super bowl caliber team with the weak defense they have. I wish I could say differently and if they win I will be like a kid in a candy store, but I don't think it will happen this year. Why aren't they drafting defense? I don't know I could ramble all day. I love sports, my favorite pro sports go football, baseball, basketball. How bout a basketball one of these too? Or is that just too much? Quote

Bassassasin12 Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 yeah I am an indy fan. My dad is a University of Tenessee alumni and was a huge Manning fan, and had me following Manning ever since college. All my relatives love the giants and the jets, but not me. Quote

Valascus Posted November 7, 2006 Posted November 7, 2006 Well...the ***** in the Bears armor has become apparent. Rex Grossman...when he plays bad and makes bad...and I mean bad decisions...is that *****. I think that loss is a blessing in disguise though. Outta bring 'em back to reality a little. ANYONE CAN BEAT ANYONE ANY GIVEN DAY!! Especially in football. They just got beat by the Dolphins. Ouch. Wake up call fellas. As for Indy...well I don't think they are quite as good as their 8-0 record implies. Don't get me wrong, they are very very good, but just not as good as everyone makes them out to be. Manning is the best QB to never win a Superbowl...he wins one he could be hailed as the best of all time one day. BUT...their is a HUGE weakness in Indy. Their run defense is horrific. Like super bad. The game against the Patriots...the Colts didn't win that game...the Patriots lost it. They got away from their game plan of just running the ball all over Indy with Cory Dillon and Laurence Maroney. They would have killed Indy as would many other teams they have faced if they would just exploit that weakness. Quote
Super User senile1 Posted November 7, 2006 Super User Posted November 7, 2006 Valascus, I agree with you about Indy. But give Peyton a solid defense and he will get his Superbowl ring eventually. I don't think this is the year for them. I know they're good, but that run defense will have to improve to make it through the playoffs. Quote
Bassassasin12 Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Exactly. If Manning could just have a solid defense for a couple years he would defenitly have a superbowl under his belt. Heres a stat for you, every year since the NFL started, the superbowl winner has had a defense AT LEAST ranked in the TOP TEN. Manning had this only one year, and they were number 8. The ended up getting upset by the future champs with one of the best defenses in a while with Palamalou and company. Quote
