fishingJ Posted October 29, 2006 Posted October 29, 2006 Is it true that American beer actually has less alcohol in it then Canadian beer? And also, how many beers can you usually take before your drunk? Weird question probably but you only live once. Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 Yes most canadian beer has more alcohol. how drunk we talking, slight buzz or wake up in a ditch drunk. if I go with a buzz I would say 3-4 quickies. No baby nippling them. Canadian beer it would be 2-3. I havent made it to the wake up in a ditch drunk yet. Dont plan on it either. Quote
Guest avid Posted October 30, 2006 Posted October 30, 2006 I don't know if that holds true anymore. there are so many specialty brewers and micro breweries that it's hard to say. I guess Molson is stronger than bud. but why anyone would drink bud is beyond me anyway (I'm ducking because RW is throwing empties at me) Sam Adams makes beers that can hold their own against any in the world. The only reason I can think of for lower alchohol content is sales. lower alchohol = less buzz per beer. buy more beer = greater profit per blitzed customer American Marketing at it's finest Quote
Super User Raul Posted October 30, 2006 Super User Posted October 30, 2006 If it doesn 't have the name "CORONA" then it ain 't beer. Quote
fishingJ Posted October 30, 2006 Author Posted October 30, 2006 Corona is good but theres better. It takes me probably 4 Canadian to feel her, drunk probably 6-8 depending on the night. American with less alcohol probably 6 to fell her and 10 to get drunk. Quote
Super User Raul Posted October 31, 2006 Super User Posted October 31, 2006 Yes there is better: "Noche Buena", made by Corona. Quote
JiggaMan512 Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 hmmm raul.. i wonder if i can get my hands on some Good Night beer.. sounds interesting. but to answer your question, there are too many breweries in Canada and the USA to make a generalized assumption on which country has more booze in there beer. hey avid, have you seen that SUPER limited edition sam adams thats like 30% alchohol? its WAYY outta brushpiles price range but i wish i could try it. JiggaMan512 Posted October 31, 2006 Posted October 31, 2006 are you sure the Dos Equis brewery doesnt brew Noche Buena? Quote
Bream Master Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 Most beers outside the US have a higher alcohol content than US beeers. Maybe for the exception of some micro-brews. I'm not a big fan of Canadian beer or the mass produced US beers, but I would drink a Canadian beer before touching a Bud. I usually go about 7-8 before getting too messed up. I don't do it often though because why would you want to waste an entire good six-pack or more in one sitting, especially if it is good imported beer. Doesn't make sense to me. I love beer for the flavor and by no means am I an alcoholic. Quote
Guest avid Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 My favorite beer is Pilsner Urguell. A Czech beer that is strong, but it's no stronger than say a Becks or a Heinie. I also like Bittsburg, and becks dark alot but like Pilsner Urquell they can hard to find sometimes. I never heard of the 30% Sam Adams but I'd give it a try. The regular Boston Larger is my favorite of the easy to find brands. There are some others I like. St. Pauli Girl is usually on the shelf and I like it better than Heineken. Quote
