If y'all know cars this was a keeper and rare.  ..yep I sold it too ::) a week later the guy that bought it totaled it :(.

Anybody remember the Chevy Corvair? It was a beauty....mine died in two weeks after I got it. For the younger folks this is what they looked like. I guess its kinda like a cult classic now but they were bad vehicles.

Small world Riskkid. My first car was a 1960 Corvair, same color as yours.  I paid $100 for it in 1974 from a 93 year old neighbor.  Lasted less than a year.  Driving in the coal region of PA (windy roads and no guard rails) a car came screaming around a sharp corner into my lane.  I swerved, the tires caught the stones on the edge of the road, momentum took me over the embankment, flipped twice on the way down, and landed roof down in a creek.  Roof was crushed and I had to kick out the windshield to get out as water was coming in.  When the police arrived and looked down the embankment, he asked if the driver was dead.  I said nope, here I am.

1990 Camaro IROC-Z    that was in absolutely PERFECT condition.  Had 42,000 miles on it and was owned by an old man going through a divorce and did not want the wife to get a hold of his car.  Bought it for $7000.  Good car, fun times, great memories, but a stupid buy now that I look back on it.  I also drove 600 miles to get it.

This is the pic about 30 seconds after I saw my car for the first time.

my first car was a 69 Chevelle SS396 it was hugger orange and I paid 1,400 for it back in 85... *sigh* I was SOOOO stupid, I sold it about a year after getting it... if I knew then what I know now I would have kept that car no matter what!

that is why I am doing everything in my power to keep my Camaro right now... I have three cars with two drivers and its going to be January when I go to Georgia... *sigh*  the Camaro isn't the car to try and drive inthe winter

1981 Buick Skylark (same year I was born).  A sweet lady in the Church gave it to me because we were good friends.  My second was a 1982 Chevy Scottsdale.  The same sweet lady gave me that truck.

My first car was a 1988 Merkur Scoprio.  An "Auto-Bahn Burner".  Basicly poor man's BMW.  It was 14 yrs old when I got it and a week later I toped it out at 135mph.  So "smart" when I had my school permit.  I wonder when the cop would have said if I got pulled over doing 130+?  I probably would not have a license today.

1983 Chevy S-10. SWB, V-6, manual transmission.

Got it the summer I turned 16, in 1993. Bought it from my uncle, for about 1200 bucks. Being my first car, I beat the crap out of it by not knowing to check and change the oil and just being an idiot. I sold it in 2000 after I had moved to Florida. I tell you, sometimes I still miss that thing.

Mine was a 87 chevy caviler and paid 300 dollers for it. It was all rusted, sun roof leaked, the head liner was falling down, the windows fell out the bottom of the door, and got whiplash from shifting out of first gear. Man I miss that car.

My first car is a '67 Impala that my dad and I bought when I was 15. He moved to Virginia this past summer, and I can't afford to pay for storage while in school, so it's parked near his place for now.

Originally a tired 327, powerglide (2 speed auto) and 3.08 gears. Currently runs a built 396 (somewhere around 425-450 horsepower or so), T400 automatic, 3.73s and an Eaton limited slip in a 12 bolt. Faster than daddy's modded Cobra ;)

I'm lucky to have a very nice little Dodge pickup to drive every day, but nothing replaces the feeling of a 4400lb car that black-tracks the tires into second gear.
