Jall65 Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 I just need to vent!! Y'all don't know my situation but here is a short version of it. In Sept. 03 I fell while changing a light bulb over our bar in the kitchen..not a big fall but I tried to catch myself and landed awkwardly and hurt my back and since then I have had 4 surgeries on my back with lots of procedures in between, I had multiple hibernation's My last surgery was March of this year and I had a double fusion in my lumbar region and I have felt the best i have felt in 3 years after the healing, I still cant do the things as I could before, then my neck and left arm started hurting. I let it go as long as I could stand. Finally I went back the the doctor and had a MRI on Friday and I just got results back and I have a large herniation with nerve impingement as well as bone spurs. I'm sick and tired of this crap, doctor this and doctor that. $$$$$ I'm 39 years old and have had 4 surgeries and probably add another one on my neck. I'm rambling and I'm sorry just needed to rant and vent a little, It just gets frustration and to tell you the truth just down right depressing at times.. I have a excellent wife and she understands without any complaints but I feel guilty to put so much on her. Like I stated above I'm sorry if i sounded like a lil whinny a$$ but I just needed to get that off my chest Quote
Super User K_Mac Posted October 23, 2006 Super User Posted October 23, 2006 Bammer We all need to vent from time to time. You've been through a lot, esp. at your age, and your frustration is understandable. I often share your frustration. Over the last couple of years I've had heart related problems that have resulted in the loss of my job, and severely restricted my activities. A pacemaker, many tests and procedures, and too many dollars to think about later, I am still having the problems. Your post touched me. I understand the guilt and frustration that goes with not being able to do the things that you want to do, and that need to be done. It is my relationship with Jesus Christ that has sustained me through this. It is the knowledge that He is with me in all the circumstances of my life, that He is sovereign, and that he loves me with an everlasting love that gets me through. My family, including my church family, has been there to help and encourage me, and remind me that I am not alone. It is my prayer that He will give you peace through this, and touch you with His healing hand. I don't know what your religious beliefs are, and if they are different than mine I mean no offense. Know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers. PM me if you want to talk further. Kirby Quote
Zel Posted October 23, 2006 Posted October 23, 2006 Man I hear where you are coming from. I've gone through similar problems. The only words of encouragement I can give you are to accept what has been dealt you, and to understand things could really be much worse. Learn to live within your limitations, and be thankful for an understanding wife. Unfortunately as you get older more heartache awaits you, but with a positive outlook on life, you will adapt. I've had to give up so much already that I enjoyed in the past, but have replaced it with other things that also provide fulfillment. Frustration, aggravation, and a loss of worth will always be present, but new challenges and opportunities do await you. Family, friends, a strong will, and for some - faith, will see you through the tough times. There's a song that goes through my head when things get tough... Tubthumping by chumbawumba: We'll be singing when we're winning We'll be singing I get knocked down but I get up again You're never gonna keep me down (Repeat) ticking the night away ticking the night away He drinks a whiskey drink He drinks a vodka drink He drinks a lager drink He drinks a cider drink He sings the songs that remind him of the good times He sings the songs that remind him of the better times Oh, Danny Boy, Danny Boy, Danny Boy I get knocked down but I get up again You're never gonna keep me down (Repeat) ticking the night away ticking the night away He drinks a whiskey drink He drinks a vodka drink He drinks a lager drink He drinks a cider drink He sings the songs that remind him of the good times He sings the songs that remind him of the better times Don't cry for me, next door neighbor I get knocked down but I get up again You're never gonna keep me down (Repeat) Quote
Jall65 Posted October 24, 2006 Author Posted October 24, 2006 Thanks guys, I appreciate the vent holes.. I just had to get that off my chest. After my last back surgery I was feeling about 75% better than I have felt in 3 years. And then my neck started the troubles just ticked me off. I don't go see the surgeon until NOV. 1st but I can just about know what he is going to say.(got to depress the nerve) Maybe I will be able to fish the spring in less pain is the way im looking at it I don't know what your religious beliefs are, and if they are different than mine I mean no offense. Know that you will be in my thoughts and prayers. PM me if you want to talk further. K_MAC, by any means you did not offend me and I want to thank you for your thoughts and prayers.. It just helps to know that other people understand . Zel, That song is already in my head... Thanks Quote
