This last year I found a somewhat secluded fishing location where I live. It's a man made reservoir owned by the city that's about 145 acres and is one of our town's water sources. Since it's a water supply making contact with the water is prohibited so no boats or wading. Also it's artificial flies and lures only but it's been established that scented plastics are okay to use there.

The times that I've been there I was targeting rainbow trout and walleye but have caught <10" smallies on accident. Next spring I want to exclusively target the bass that I've seen patrolling the area and reach a good 3 pounds but not much more.

I've read a lot of threads and articles about fishing smallmouth bass in rivers, streams, and larger lakes/reservoirs but nothing on smaller bodies of water.

Here's what the reservoir looks like:

Overall there's not much cover around the lake but there is are a lot of deep structure around the dam where I focus most of my time. If anyone has any insight they'd like to shed fishing a similar location would be great.
