Super User roadwarrior Posted August 5, 2009 Super User Posted August 5, 2009 http://www.ndow.org/fish/where/by_water/results.asp?species_name=Largemouth+Bass&Submit=Search I posted the smallmouth answer in the smallmouth section. 8-) Quote
Sil240sxrwd Posted August 21, 2009 Posted August 21, 2009 If you can get out to the Pioche Area around april/may there is a reservoir called echo canyon. Now the bass arent trophy by any means but when it comes to numbers, you will have a blast. Its possible on some days to catch bass on every single cast during those months. Fish it at night for some amazing topwater action also. I took my wife and my sister there 2 years in a row now and both weekends had to be 200+ fish days for the 3 of us. Quote
nevadafishinkid Posted September 11, 2009 Posted September 11, 2009 well id say rye patch is your best best theres some good fish in there if your going reno way there isnt much i love fishing im from reno and there just isnt much bass around Quote
Kamiahkid Posted September 12, 2009 Posted September 12, 2009 Try Ruby Lake National Wildlife Refuge. It's not to far from you. Also, if you want to go North into Idaho, C J Strike Reservoir is not to far from Winnemuca. Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted September 14, 2009 Super User Posted September 14, 2009 I know it's a ways away but Lake Mead and Lake Mojave are worth it! Quote
Btech Posted December 7, 2009 Author Posted December 7, 2009 Well thanks guys - I think it would be less money just to move back to the east - Thinking of Tenn. or NC / SC area again. - Anyone have a job opening. Quote
looserod Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 Rye Patch is a cool place and Ruby Lake National Wildlife Refuge is must do. Take bug spray and search out the hot springs. During this season I'm not so sure of either. Although if you aren't fishing, Ruby is still a great place to visit. To the locals or anybody in the know, after it warms back up how is Stillwater for bass. Quote
Btech Posted March 27, 2010 Author Posted March 27, 2010 Thanks for the help guys it just hurts knowing I must drive thee hours just to catch bass. I miss NC. I have heard of Willow Resivoir in battle mountain holding bass but have only caught trout and yellow perch. Anyone from this area hit me up please Quote
Slowboat Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 Lake Havasu, a little farther downstream is even better for Bass. But getting pretty far away from you and also doesn't quite fit into the where is the Bass in Nevada question. I know it's a ways away but Lake Mead and Lake Mojave are worth it! Quote
Uncle Manny Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Havasu will be the ticket for you. It's a little drive, but well worth it. Rich Quote
Btech Posted November 22, 2010 Author Posted November 22, 2010 Amazing it has been over a year since I have hooked a bass! Still I have that craving looking for somewhere to fish here in the middle of no where lol. Are there any members around this area that would like to plan a roadtrip to somewhere with bass and not dinky trout I have been catching out of a 2ft wide creek? Send me a message Quote
Btech Posted December 18, 2010 Author Posted December 18, 2010 Finally! I found Bass ... and although the trip was short, I caught 2! total weight probably less than half a pound (IDK) lol but it was fun. I did alot of research and the closest thing to Winnemucca was 1.5 hours away in Denio Junction called Dufferina ponds, and finaly after casting on my Quantum UL, 4lb with a cheep walmart 1/8 oz jig caught my first Northen Nevada Bass on the first cast! I know to everyone this sounds lame but its been over a year and finaly have a place to go to - after 40 bucks in gas, hours of packing, setting up camp and 30 degree weather, I caught TWO! Anyone who needs help locating Bass in Northen Nevada please contact me Via PM Quote
20psi Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 I just accepted a job about 15 mins away from Lake Cachuma in Santa Barbara Ca, so I wont be fishing in NV anymore. But I have found some decent spots in the reno area. Up from Pyramid lake there is a couple lakes with good bass fishing, called Squaw creek and wall canyon. Wall is mainly smallmouth, but I have seen some 4-5 lbr's come out of Squaw. Getting closer to your neck of the woods, South Fork Reservoir near elko has some really great fishing. State record smallmouth came out of there last year. NDOW website is great for info sheets. Quote
