the basshole Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 Im am fishing the delta this weekend and was woundering what the bass are biteing on and where at. Thanks Quote
Branuss04 Posted August 15, 2009 Posted August 15, 2009 The bite is kinda sucky right now... but go punch the mats. 1 oz tungsten pegged. Watermelon or Pumpkinseed sweet beaver. Try to hit it when the tide is coming in or going out. I fished thursday and helped out with a tourney on friday. The thursday bite was pretty good with moving water, but once the tide was flat the bite shut down. Work the points where there is moving water and you will find the fish. Couldn't tell you where we fished, but we went out of Russo's Marina. There were also rumors that the stripers are comin in. You could always try using a punker and hitting the striper action BTW, the tourney won with a 6.93#er.... kinda sad for the delta :-/ Quote

You're right though, HBC is starting to look like Medium Bass Classic.... Quote

You're right though, HBC is starting to look like Medium Bass Classic.... HA!! Medium at best. The weights of the last two winners equaled the weight of the first winner. HBC-4 at Don Pedro was won with a ~3.83 The VTO thing is only cool if you have friends there or you draw somebody cool. This was the first time I went without any of my buddies. LUCKILY, I drew Russ Graves. He's a pretty good stick around here and fishes most lakes I do. But other than that it was kinda lame. They didn't give us much in the lines of gifts. HBC-4 I drew Steve P. (He's a member on this board) so that was pretty sweet. Then HBC-2 I went with 4bizz and us and some other guys stayed up till 1 in the morning and drank. Then had to be up at 330... Good times I've done the last three out of four, but won't be doing the next one. Quote
Super User SPEEDBEAD. Posted August 18, 2009 Super User Posted August 18, 2009 Drawing Steve P. would definitely be cool. I dont know how much of the biologist stuff I would understand, but I am sure something would sink in. ;D Do the guys talk to you while they are fishing, or is it more like "business" on the water? I've heard of some guys that tell their VTO's to not talk, but with all three of my guys, I was able to pick their brain and BS with them. I feel bad when I drew Steve. I was really tired and he was really sucking at catching fish , so I curled up on the back deck and slept. (JK, He didn't suck, the bite just really SUCKED , not many people weighed fish) Quote
christopherjake Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Bass season is long gone for me, and won't be fishing for them again until last May. Now it's stiper time! Quote
ilovefooffur Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 I always have a hard time catching bass this time of the year. Chuck and wind will only get me so far. :'( Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted November 12, 2009 BassResource.com Administrator Posted November 12, 2009 Does anyone know if the Delta is any good towards the end of December? Quote
Super User fourbizz Posted November 16, 2009 Super User Posted November 16, 2009 Yeah, if you are into striper. But be ready for big wind and big water. Also, psychotic duck hunters. Quote
b.Lee Posted November 20, 2009 Posted November 20, 2009 Yeah it gets kind of intimidating with the pops you hear everywhere. Quote
CanalStalkin Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I need a dang boat so I can get out there. Was thinking of going on a guided trip. Quote
looserod Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 For a guide Bob Sparre kills em. I give him 5 stars. If he is fishing stripers, he is on them. Just do the google thing. Quote
