HuntFishAK Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 My neighbor and I are headed out to Banks Lake this weekend. Any suggestions on what to try? Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted November 12, 2009 BassResource.com Administrator Posted November 12, 2009 Wow, that's a tough one. I've never fished it this late, so I'm not the one to give advice. I'm not sure who has either. That said, I'd stay close to the areas above Steamboat, as the wind can get pretty nasty with all these fronts blowing in. There was a big tournament there 2 weeks ago, and it took nearly 30lbs to win it (2 day tourney) - that's HUGE for that lake. I don't know what the winning pattern was, however. Sorry I'm not much help. Good luck and stay safe! Quote
HuntFishAK Posted November 12, 2009 Author Posted November 12, 2009 Thanks for the response Glenn. From what the weather report is saying, looks like it will be a fairly calm day. I'll probably end up throwing a dropshot quite a bit. I won't be able to resist the spinnerbait. I'll give a report when we get back on what worked and what didn't. Quote
WCCT Posted November 14, 2009 Posted November 14, 2009 Fish the roadbeds south of Steamboat with a football jig with twin tail grub or small creature bait. Carolina rigged 4 & 5" lizards will also get bit. Stay with your browns and greens, such as cinnamon, green pumpkin, and watermelonseed. The winning depth at the Frostbite was 30-40' deep. Don't be afraid to go out to 45 or 50 though either. The fish are there and feeding pretty dang good, so expect some great action. Quote
