Bass XL Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Welcome, we need more info... what color water, stainded or clear? where ? any cover? Quote
Chris Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 When I lived in Florida I used redshad, tequila green flake, junebug, black/blue flake, pumpkinseed, and blackgrape. Quote
Bass Mekanik Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Black, white, junebug, red shad, black shad, watermelon seed, cotton candy, motor oil. Quote
Super User Munkin Posted December 23, 2006 Super User Posted December 23, 2006 From what I have seen posted before junebug and redshad work well. Ask Earthworm77 he is now a Floridian and owns a tackle business (MicroMunch Tackle) so he probably has an ultra secret fish catching color. Allen Quote
rocknfish9001 Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 This changes from state to state, region to region, city to city, and lake to lake. Sometimes, different colors are better in different parts of the lake. I believe that this is up to you to figure out. Experiment and stick to the basics until you find something that works. Quote

Super User FishTank Posted December 24, 2006 Super User Posted December 24, 2006 The few times I have fished in Florida, my favorite was 5'' Senko black and blue laminate. One other color that was equally as good was a 4'' and 5'' Yum Dinger Smoke Laminate. Quote
ga_hawghauler Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 my two allaround choices is green pumkin and red shad Quote
Guest avid Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Welcome to the forum. My experinece is that you can't go wrong with any color that has "pumpkin" or "watermelon" in the name. White is a standard. good luck and have fun avid. Quote
Skeeter1 Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 When in doubt green pumpkin or watermelon is a good place to start Quote
PeterF Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 The Fla guys are right on with the colors but I think presentation is more important than color. Quote
pete s Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 fla grape green flake year round and red shad green flake during the spawn. (FLORIDA GRAPE -IS BLACK GRAPE BUT HAS A VIOLET HUE WHEN HELD UP TO SUNLITE) all black grape not the same. another tip,you want the darkest red shad you can find. tip i learn from one of largest plastic bait manufacturer around. we were using rejects because they were too dark and the fishermen didnt like. on the dark waters of florida the bass love them. (kissimmee chain) another thing,i found out there is a crawfish that lives south fla. the front pinchers look like red shad and the back looks like june bug. COINCIDENCE??????????? PICS WERE ON INTERNET Quote
