Josh Bassman Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 I'm going night fishing Sat. night, and I'm looking for some ideas. It's a swallow lake in Northern California that has springs bringing cold water into the lake. The lake has a lot of cattails, and big large mouth bass. Night fishing at Big Lake, California ~4miles north east of Fall River, CA Quote
Rand Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 For color go with black. I would say wake baits, buzzbaits, jitterbugs. Texas and carolina rigged worms. Spinnerbaits with single colorado blade. All theser baits should move a lot of water. Rand Quote
AndyPlaysDrums Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 I got my first good blowup on a Jitterbug last night, shortly before total dark. I'm itching to get that back out there again soon! Quote
Super User Raul Posted July 31, 2009 Super User Posted July 31, 2009 If you want to catch fish lipless cranks and spinnerbaits are a good option, now, if you want to have a heart attack and probably catch fish ---> Jitterbug and hold on to your pants !. Quote

bassin is addicting Posted July 31, 2009 Posted July 31, 2009 X2 on the black jitterbug!! just don't get too anxious when you get the blow-up. let her take it deep. 8-) feel her weight before you jerk the rod. Quote

Josh Bassman Posted August 4, 2009 Author Posted August 4, 2009 We fished all night. I threw everything in my tackle box. Dark brown 3 1/2" tubes, T-tig did good. We also did OK with a 1/4 oz shaky head with a robo worm. Quote
Btech Posted August 5, 2009 Posted August 5, 2009 At night if your on a boat try a Zoom Trickworm in Black and yellow with a peged tungs. weight drag it along the banks - It usualy works for me. Good luck - night fishing always brings the best bass out (in my opinion) Quote
