paulc Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 I live in Weed and we fish at Ute lake. Helluva long drive, but that is where my boat is. Only ever fished one time at Elephant Butte and had my best luck on the river below it catching walleye. Ute is a real good lake, just a long drive is all. Quote
brgbassmaster Posted April 4, 2008 Author Posted April 4, 2008 Ya sorry im not willing to drive more than 2 and a half hours seeing the price of gas and all. so i guess i will stick with the butte or santa rosa. Quote
dallas0996 Posted July 7, 2008 Posted July 7, 2008 Ute is only another hour or so northeast of Santa Rosa; and blows SR out of the water... try it on a long weekend for fishing/camping with some buddies or something and I recommend having a boat....and watch out for the Tarantulas BTW I lived in ABQ for over 20 years and it has some fantastic fishing if you are willing to drive...the high altitude lakes up north are awesome Navajo, Heron, El Vado, Vallecita... just my .02 D Quote
