dworshakbass Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 is there anyone out there who could give me some info on fishing the snake river for bass this time of year Quote
WABass Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 I used to live in the Spokane area and would fish the Snake near Lower Granite dam, we usually had good luck with craw colored crankbaits, jerkbaits and grubs in brown or green color. Quote
keystone Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 I have had success in the early spring with white and chartreuse rooster tails. In the summer when it's really hot and still I've used 4-6" pumpkin seed colored worms rigged in the middle with no weight. You have to have a calm day and a lot of patience to let the worm sink. But, when nothing else works it's a good tactic. I haven't had a lot of luck rigging Texas or Carolina worms. Quote
Super User iceintheveins Posted April 11, 2008 Super User Posted April 11, 2008 The snake around there fishes great. The best stretch might be the Ice Harbor tailwater, before the Snake disappears into Lake Umatilla. This time of year it's still running cold and high (over 20,000 cfs). It fishes A LOT better from July onward. Quote
Starnes Posted April 22, 2008 Posted April 22, 2008 Throw a football head with a hula grub in the rock 12 to 15 feet deep. Craw color cranks do okay also but the best color is a ghost shad. Find some ledges with weeds that top out at 5 feet and fish the down current side. There is a ton of great areas there. If you can navagate the rocks go up the snake and fish back water edies. The grand rounde is a great place. There is a lot of rock piles and stump just off the camp ground at hellsgate that can be good. Good Luck hope this helps. Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Keri Posted April 22, 2008 BassResource.com Administrator Posted April 22, 2008 Your are a bit further up river than I've been but White Spinner Baits/Sand colored grubs worked well in the lower Snake below the dam just before the river dumps into the Columbia river/Wallula pool.
