rowyourboat Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 so the family is wanting to go to pigeon forge this summer. Its me, the wife, the son, and the daughter. We will take a week off to go down. The boy and i are wanting to spend a couple days fishing so I looked on the map and saw this lake near by. how is it? is it worth the trip? thanks guys! Quote
VolFan Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 I had a great time fishing below the dam for white bass during the summer. Small white spinners and flukes or spoons or white grubs for consistent action. You'll get some bonus other fish in there too. The Little Pigeon River through PF also fishes great for smallmouth for numbers. Find a bridge and work from there. I used Powerworm trick worms weightless on spinning gear with a gold aberdeen hook, texas rigged, weightless, just drifted and twitched with the current. ALot of fun and it's mostly pretty shallow so you can wde in an old pair of tennis shoes or sandals. Quote
Al Wolbach Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Assuming that you are traveling in an automobile, stop at the Bass Pro Shop at the Pigeon Forge exit(exit 417) off of I-40. I-81 runs into I-40 about 12 miles before your exit. The guys in the fishing dept can direct you to areas to fish near your motel. They field these questions every day and are very helpful.............Al Quote
bassbum85 Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Also I remember a thread of some guys who went to pigeon forge and fished for smallies in the river and creeks. Might be a nice option to wade a creek for smalliess. fun fishing and you get to keep cool. Quote
